This is my first attempt at tissue over foil. Thanks Husky for your inovation and your help. Gene
  2. I now have all of the lures in hand. I received one yesterday and the last two today. Thanks BenjiWhite, FishSticks and MattMoreau. They will make some some great additions to all of the participants' collections. I will get the lures sorted and packed up tomorrow after work and get them mailed back to all of you Saturday. Gene
  3. Received another box of lures today. They, too, are great looking baits. Thanks BentonB. Gene
  4. I received two sets of lures from the swap today. TC-Lures & Crankbaits your lures look great! After I get all of the lures and get them mailed back to the participants, I'll post a picture of the group. I want those that participated in the swap to see them first though. Gene

    Most excellent!!
  6. Matt Moreau, I'm trying to send you a PM but it says that you can't receive any more PMs. Gene
  7. Pete, It was good to see you again. I hope the rest of the your trip went well. Yes, I will post a composite picture of all of the lures after I get them sent back out and the recipients receive them. Gene
  8. I've re-carpeted two boats in the past and am working another now. I have always used contact cement and rolled it on to the boat AND the carpet with a 4-inch paint roller. Make sure that you get a coating and let it dry before you set it. Roll your larger pieces up so that you'll be able to handle them easier. No, the dried glue will not stick to the carpeted side. I would suggest that you carpet the larger places FIRST. That way you will have extra carpet left if you screw it up. The you can use your leftover pieces and scrap to do your smaller areas. Make sure you have your carpet where you want it before you set it down because once it's stuck it's there for good. One gallon should do your boat. Buy the best carpet you can get unless you want to be doing it again in the next few years. Gene
  9. The sign up for the lure swap is closed. We have 7 participants. I'll be sending each of the participants an e-mail in the next couple of days with my address. Gene
  10. Fishsticks, Yes, you're allowed. Glad to have you join us. You make number 7. Gene
  11. Benjiwhite, No, the list that you have is complete as you see it. We still only have 6. Everyone else, Time's running out. If you're still on the fench, now is the time to make up your mind. Late-comers will not be accepted. Gene
  12. Fishsticks, Yes, you will actually get 9 different lures from the other participants and one of your own. It's easier for me to build 10 identical sets to be mailed back to the participants as opposed to building 10 unique sets and making sure that I get each unique set mailed back to the right person. Gene
  13. Although I really like the looks of some the new patterns, just give me the old standard: silver foil sides, black back, white belly. Gene
  14. Maybe I can get her to change the location. But then I'd miss the wedding cause you and I would be FISHING! Gene
  15. Here is our list of participants as of today: 1)Lincoya 2)Matt Moreau 3)Crankbaits 4)BenjiWhite 5)BentonB 6)Tc-lures We still need 4 more. Gene
  16. Benji, I'm glad that you changed your mind. I think you'll be glad, too. Yes, you read right. You need to have 10 identical completed lures mailed to me by the specified date. The swap is limited to 10 participants. However, if we don't have 10 participants, you will only need to make enough to cover the number of participants. Gene
  17. benton B, Glad to have you in the swap. Would you please post your intent in the following link so that I can keep up with the players? Thanks. http://www.tackleunderground.com/community/topic/22537-handmade-hardbait-lure-swap/ Gene
  18. Benji White, I will remove you from the swap if that's what you want. 10 lures is not that many and you have 5 weeks to get them to me. I'd like to include you in swap but if you stiil want to withdraw, that's fine. Let me know for sure what you want me to do. Thanks. Gene
  19. Crankbaits, Right here is the place. You're number 3. Gene
  20. Everyone, I understand that there are some people here on the forums that only read the hardbait forum and never venture further down to the other forums. So, I have decided to add a post here about a lure swap that I have started. You can find more information about the swap in the http://www.tackleunderground.com/community/topic/22537-handmade-hardbait-lure-swap/
  21. HARDBAIT LURE SWAP 1) This will be a lure swap for handmade crankbaits, topwaters, hard jerk baits, and other like lures. 2) The lures will be made from wood, foam, or PVC. 3) The lures will be hand carved, turned on lathe, or poured into a mold. 4) Factory lures that have been repainted are not eligible for this swap. 5) The lure will be a working lure. In other words, the lure will have all of the actions that would be expected of a lure that would be fished. 6) Hooks will be removed from the lures before shipping. This will prevent the lures from being damaged during shipping. 7) There will be a maximum of 10 participants in this swap. The first ten people to sign up will be included in this swap. OPTIONAL, BUT WOULD BE PREFERRED: Include a small piece of paper (for each lure) with the following information about the lure: a) Name of maker and TU Username Location (city and state or at least state) of lure maker c) Type of material used d) Type of paint e) Type of clear coat (unless youhave a secret one) 9) The final commitment date is July 3, 2011 at midnight. To be included in the exchange please sign up by that date. 10) All lures will be mailed to me by July 24, 2011. I will send a PM to each participant with my mailing address. 11) Please read the TU LURE EXCHANGE RULES @ http://www.tackleunderground.com/community/topic/18601-tu-lure-exchange/ for further guidance. These rules have specific guidelines that should be followed. 12) Once I receive everyone’s lures I’ll repackage them and send them out to all of the participants. 13) Please be sure to include your shipping fees, as indicated in the above TU LURE EXCHANGE RULES (#11), with your lures.
  22. You're more than welcome guys. I hope it helps people. Gene
