  1. Bob, I think he wants to do the poly instead of epoxy... yes poly will give you a nice shiny topcoat but it won 't provide much protection for your bait. The poly will ware off in no time. Topcoats are probably one of the most discussed topics here ...I believe there are two- three threads on the list right now regarding different ones...use the search feature and prepare for about a weeks worth of reading...Nathan

    Rats!

    Well said Mark..Nathan
  3. The concrete sealers should do well for you as a wood sealer. Ben.. I didn't have a lot of luck using Solrez as a sealer..It would soak in the wood at different depths and cured the surface would be uneven..Now after the wood was sealed with a concrete sealer..then Solrez ..you would have a great surface to paint on..Nathan
  4. Cougar is that mixture for dipping or brushing?..Nathan

    Sweet Rat Mark!!!
  8. The AC1315 is 30% solids as opposed to GST which is 20% I believe...It should give you a bit tougher top coat..Nathan
  9. https://www.kbs-coatings.com The Diamond Finish top coat is a product Similar to the DN product but is a bit more storage and user friendly.I understand it is dippable, brushable and according to there reviews sprayable. I've never personally tried this product but have heard good things..I hope some of the guys who have been using this product will give us some info...Nathan

  14. Bonesaw, There is a post towards the bottom of the page titled "tapping the can of DN" you might want to read. You only want to dispense just what you need for brushing on.Anything left over DONOT put back in the can. Also if you use our search feature here and search Dicknight or DN you will have hours of reading on the topic...Nathan
  15. Jaw, If you have it it won't hurt to use it..Maybe Saltshaker has a thought on this..Nathan
  16. KBS Diamond top coat is a similar product as DN but you don 't have near the storage issues.I've heard of guys dipping right in the can and letting it drip back in the can and months later the product is still usable.I've never used it myself..I've just spoke with guys who have...Nathan
  17. I've heard good things about it..I've heard you can dip a bait and let it drip back in the container with no issue..I'll need to finally break down and try it...Nathan
  18. Saltshaker... The Diamond Clear is very similar to DN but not near as touchy about setting up..Right?...Nathan
  19. Your Dremel will work great Gino..Just follow the initial cut you make with the band saw...Nathan
  20. Gino, This is how Gene ( Lincoya) taught me to cut perfect slots every time...Use your band saw or scroll saw to make the initial cut then use a hand rotary tool with a Diamond bit (1/8 or -1/16th depending on lip thickness) and follow the precut slot.Cut from the bottom to the top instead of side to side initially to keep from chipping out the slot...Nathan
  21. They look great !..Thanks for sharing...Nathan
