  1. Epoxy your eye screws in and they won't pull out.If you move that front hook back a bit it won't catch on the bill and it will fill that gap a bit from removing that middle hook...Nathan
  2. I think the size is fine but I would go with two hooks.. not three.I'd move your front hook back just a hair and get rid of that middle hook.BTW...pine works great for lures..Nathan
  3. I remember the guy told me you would get a bunch of strikes on it when it was just sitting still..Nathan

  6. I had a older guy bring me a bait to duplicate fore him.It was a cigar shaped bait for walking the dog.I can't remember what it was called...but all the weight was in the very tail of the bait. The rear eyescrew actually went through it...You could cast that thing a mile and in the water it stood straight up and down like a bobber...Then you would start to walk it..it walked easier then any bait I've ever seen..I'll have to make one of those again..Nathan
  7. Nice...let us know how they work..Nathan

  10. The only jars I can think of are the large pickle jars .( The concession stand lg jars)..That should give you plenty of length ..You can get them at Walmart..Nathan
  11. If you want to continue to pour lead in to your baits the second the lead scabs over on top flip the bait over and press down compressing the lead into the whole. It makes for a tight fit and you won't have so much lead to get rid of..Nathan
  12. Very nice Mark..This could be a very interesting thread..I use to have the first crank I built somewhere..I'll see If I can find it..I'd like to encourage others to post their " Then & Now" pictures here ...Should be fun...Nathan

  15. Minwax is a brand..what Minwax product are you using? I've used their polyacrilic too seal baits with. Two dips and it seals pretty good. The only problem with it was it is water based and raises the grain on the bait...Nathan
  16. Ben, Have you tried heating it a bit to thin it out before dipping ?..It may flow a bit better. On the site they say it can be microwaved for a few seconds.. Then you could keep it warm with a hot water bath..Just a thought..Nathan
