  3. I actually mix it with some polyacrilic and either spray or brush on depending on the look or color I'm going for.It could be mixed with your top coat but that can limit the use of the glitter....Nathan

    Gst Bubbles

You said it was bait 3...I 'm betting you introduced the bubbles when you dipped the first two and let them drip back in the jar...Nathan
  7. A little white vinegar in the water you dip your water slide decals in makes them softer and lay better too!!...Nathan
  8. This is some pretty slick stuff..but it does have the consistancy of thick hand cream. The eyes I painted were very small so I just dipped them....Thanks for the tip on this paint BobP...Nathan
  9. I just received my order from GloNation aswell...I orderd the unpigmented Wht/grn color to make glowing eyes on my new Black Rodent I'm making...talking about bright creepy eyes!!!...Nathan
  10. I would start off making sure you heat set each coat..and make sure all is totally dry before top coating...if your still getting wrinkling...start making changes....I'm assuming the Krylon top coat is a enamel...Enamels USUALLY play nice with water base if dry...Nathan
  11. Paulownia, poplar and white Pine are all good choices..especially the first two...Nathan

  14. The problem with trimming bucktail that has been tied is you lose the natural taper of the hair...Nathan
  15. Eric, I've used acetone to clean my brushes after using it..and Acetone flashes off quick..that might work..also on their website they say it can be slightly heated to thin it...I think putting it in a hot water bath would be the safest method for heating...Nathan
  16. Realistically, there is no top coat that can with stand repeated casts against rocks, docks etc...Nathan
  17. Beautiful job Mark...Let us know how it goes..Nate
  18. Musky fisherman have been fishing baits similar to that for years...The whole "Glide bait" craze has just recently caught on with Bass fisherman...Nathan
  19. Mark, If you wanted to put your picture up on the "Frog post" that is fine...Nathan
  20. PVC doesn't need to be sealed.. It's impervious to water ..I think these guys "dip" just to have a smooth surface for paint..They will have to chime in on what they use...Nathan

    Frogs

Yep..that link is similar to what I was talking about....except with mine there would be no top or bottom...both the lower and top half would be painted like the belly of a frog...mount the eyes on the side of the bait and your eye screws in the center of the side...that way when it landed it always landed correctly. I think the PVC should work great along with your home made eye screws but epoxy them in.... Nathan
  22. Go to Cabelas or Bass pro's catalog or website..should supply you with a bunch of pictures of Walleye baits...Nathan

    Frogs

Another option is to do away with the " Tube" option altogether. You would use two worm hooks on each side of the bait at the rear and use grubs Texas rigged for your legs..they would be weedless and cause a little commotion in open water...Again excuse the poor art work..lol..Nathan
  24. Dip and hang..I'd give it 24 hrs..but it continues to harden for a week or so...But you should do a search on this site and read about the storage issues...Nathan

    Frogs

A single hook works fine but if you do want a double hook I found that the current "Frog Hooks " are a little large for this design. If you do want to use a double hook LPO or Jann's that craft has a good selection of double hooks in their various sizes. The hook will remain facing up because of how it is attached to the rigid tube at the rear with the flexable tubing. If you want it even more weedless you could attach a hitchhiker to the back of the bait and run a small rubber band from it to the hook Barb or a thin rubber worm...see attached terrible sketch...
