  1. You don't have to complete your lip slot until your done shaping just make your initial cut when your stock is still square..Here is what I mean...Draw your bait out on your stock (including the flat bottom) so you know how deep your slot needs to be taking into account how much you will lose when you cut the bottom flat. When you have your slop marked make one cut with the bandsaw...now your slot marked and square. When you have completed shaping your lure you now finish the slot with a Dremel tool with either a 1/16th or 1/8th" cutting bit (depends on the thickness of your lexan). The dremel will follow the cut you made with the bandsaw perfectly. This is how I do all my slots.Gene ( Lincoya) taught me that trick!...Nathan
  2. What about cutting your lip slot before turning the lure while your stock is square?....Nathan
  3. 3M adhesive would never hold up well enough A-Mac...Nate
  4. Chillispoons, Welcome to the site...When looking for concrete sealers you want laquer based .And higher the solid content the better. Another concrete sealer that works is Eagle Supreme...I think it is very similar to GST ... Nathan

  6. With such a wide varity of colors , sizes & products I'd give it a while and see what your sellers are. Then in the future you can keep a stock of your best sellers on hand...Nathan

  8. A-Mac, This is a popular lure with the guys fishing the Ca. Delta..The baits pictured were customs... My standard colors are White ( with red eyes and tail ) or Dark Brown ( with Black eyes and tail) Ben...I'm more than old enough to remember who "Alf" is.. Lol..and your right !!...Nathan
  9. Several types of fur are usable...Fly fisherman have been using fur on flies for decades....The easiest way to use fur is on the hide. Look at "Zonker Strips" at a fly shop.....They are cut from Rabbit, squirrel..etc. or you can buy whole hides of coon,Muskrat etc. and cut your own......Nathan
  10. Ben, Check with a Vet or maybe those set ups for injecting meat marinades?...Nathan

Flashabou can be purchased at any fly fishing shop or site but I don't recall ever seeing it in 30" lengths...It's usually 10-12"...Nathan

A Nest of Rodents...with a few " custom" colors!.. Nathan
  20. Diemai, Do you think the over all shape of the top of the bait helps with the diving depth?..Both the picture Joliepa posted and the little Aussie bait you posted have the diving bill and the top of the bait at the same angel...It's almost like the body of the bait is a extension of the diving bill.... Nathan
  21. Pondboss, That is the one I tried and is not the correct one ..You want eagle Supreme..That is the one A-Mac is using and I think is the similar product that they are getting at Menards (Gst International )...Nathan
  22. Some believe that a stainless or permasteel hooks aren't as visible on top waters or shallow running baits. They think the lighter hook blends with the lighter background when the fish approach from under the bait...Nathan
  23. BTW Ryan, Checked your baits out..Beautiful job..They have a very "retro" feel to them...Nathan
  24. Welcome Ryan ...Loved your intro... I find family history very interesting...Nathan
  25. Here is the bait I did ...It's dated in 04...I really think this design could be fine tuned.I think it would be great for off color water .You need to set your bill angel pretty steep and use a wide bill to offset the blades on the side of the bait....Nathan
