I think it should seal the wood just fine.The only thing I can see is you probably won't have as smooth as a surface to paint you've had in the past with the epoxy...and make sure your paint doesn't react with the sealer..Nathan
A couple years ago I played around with a product called "Real Water".It is a single component water based product used to make lakes and rivers in model train etc. set ups.I simply dipped them one time and hung them.The stuff dries very clear with a moderate gloss to it.The interesting thing about this stuff is that never dried hard...Just very firm so it always has a flex to it.The crankbaits I used it on have been fished hard and still look pretty good considering the abuse.
You can get this stuff from Micro Mark ( expensive there!!) Or Hobby Lobby will some times have it or Places that cater to model railroad stuff...Taxidermy places may even have it..I don't know...
I 'm just throwing this one out there for anybody who may want to mess with it..Unfortunatley I don't have the time right now to put this stuff through it's paces...maybe somebody else will...Nathan
I was on Larry Dalhbergs sight and notice a post the Anglingarcher had made regarding top coats...Larry confirmed that they are about too release a UV top coat.....Nathan
