  1. CSG, If you check out page 4 (I think)of the "amazing Clear Cast" post there is a link to this stuff. It can be sprayed or brushed however it says it can be thinned by nuking it for a few seconds in a microwave.. I'm hoping after heating I can dip it...Nathan
  2. Thanks guys ...I would really like to know how they did that underwater footage...Nathan
  3. Thanks Ben...It was a lot of fun to build!!..Nathan
  4. Your definitely in the right spot...I would spend some time reading these forums and using it's search feature. There is a incredible amount of information here.Everyone of your questions have been discussed in length here.If you have any specific questions, post them up....Nathan
  5. As a general rule.... The break down on a double jointed bait is 50/30/20.... for a single joint it is 60/40...again this is just a guide line...Nathan
  6. http://southernswimbait.com/2012/10/15/the-bettencourt-baits-dying-bluegill/ Above is a link to some underwater footage of a bait I just released. It is able to swim like it does because of the ballast and it's placement. It took probably 10 attempts and adjustments to get this bait to lay on it's side..then swim up right...For you new guys playing around with baits...If a bait doesn't do what you want, make only ONE change at a time...If you make more than one you have no Idea what fixed your problem.Also...I only actually went through a couple baits through all those changes..I try to use the same bait as long as I can so I eliminate as many varitables as I can.... The weighting /ballast of this bait is about what you would expect...There is some weight in the bottom to give it some stabalization when it's upright in the water...there is also some weight towards the top/side of the bait in both sections so it lays over....There is even a small amount of weight in the tail so it would hange under the surface like a real dying/dead fish. This is a real unstable bait in the water and you have to fish it slow or it will blow out...but as you can see if swam right... you can mimic a dying fish
  7. I forgot to mention I orderd some yesterday along with the light bulb on the site.I figure if this works out well I'll order tanning bed lights and build a fixture ...I'll keep you updated on my findings...Nathan

  20. Boyd, A table top Bandsaw and sander will work just fine.Micro Mark has some neat stuff but they are pricey.Sears and Delta make some pretty good table top tools at a reasonable price...Nathan
  21. Welcome to the site Boyd.I also started my lure making at a fly tying vise about 30 years ago. When I started making wood lures I found a band saw and a table top belt sander as the most valuable and useful tools to have. You can build just about anything if you have them...Nathan
