  1. Musky Glenn, Those are the wings I have, and your right ...they are large!...I see that Moores provides the mounting screws and cotter pins per set..that's nice to know the other places you have to buy them separate ..Thanks for the info...Nathan
  2. I've been a member of the TU community since it started over 10 years ago...I've got to say it still amazes me how helpful people are here!! Thanks to all who posted and pm'd me with info. When I get one of these critters to work I'll post up a picture!..Nathan
  3. Ben, Yes I did add lead for ballast..I built one thinking "how hard can it be?"...It went down hill from there!!...lol.I didn't do any research on the web before building .I see now mine is to long and narrow...I need to build it a bit shorter and wider....also these wings a heavy and need to be mounted forward...but then the bait wants to nose down..(I think that is where the additional width comes in)Also reading I guess the spinning is a common problem but I can't find where any body gives any hints on how to fix it..... Nathan
  4. Http://www.johnscrankbait.com You'll be glad you did..Nathan
  5. If It says it has inhibitors in it,it should slow the yellowing down considerably...Nathan
  6. You maybe more familiar with the Heddon Crazy Crawler..Nathan
  7. Gary, The ones from lure parts are really large,I believe it's Janns that I found a little smaller ones. You'll need to pick up some small cotter pins to connect the wings to the mounting bracket...Nathan
  8. Does anyone here have any experience building this style bait?..I have a new concept for one but before I can move on I need to master the basic bait first..My first attempts spin when I retrieve them.I'm using the lg. creeper wings from lure parts on line...Any input would be appreciated...Nathan
  9. I'll second that Dieter, incredible concept and craftmenship...can't wait to hear how it swims..Nathan
  10. Good tip Markinof...Have you and Mark used this 9300 on wooden lures?..I know you two guys use mostly PVC for your baits...It seems the failures I've read about this stuff has been on wooden baits...Can this stuff be purchased at lowes..etc. or do I order direct?..Thanks for the help guys...Nathan
  11. With the target products ,do they need to be put on a wheel after dipping?...Nathan

  13. Glenn, Ben is absolutely right about the pictures...We just don't want people show casing there work here...As for what your doing it's perfectly acceptable.."a picture is worth a thousand words!!"...Nathan
  14. If your using just as a sealer for your wood don't worry about any blushing...your going to paint over the top of it anyway..Nathan
  15. Mark, You'll be surprised how snag less the bait will become and how good your hook up ratio will be ...besides even if I do miss a couple fish the increased amount of strikes because of where I 'm able to fish my baits more than makes up for it..Nathan
  16. Hey Mark, Have you considerd adding a double hook to the belly instead of a treble? And face the hook towards the bait instead of out...you will still have a snag resistant bait with a better hook up ratio..Nathan
  17. That is really slick Pete!!..Nathan
  18. Beautiful baits Mark...I have no doubt you'll get bit!!!!

  21. They make some kits for this in the fly tying industry. The cost of the top coats is pretty cost prohibitive...Nathan
  22. Bluetickhound, You definitely have the right attitude about all this...I've always learned so much more from my failures than my successes.. Nathan
