  1. Thanks guys...I really appreciate it..Nathan
  2. Chief, Is the line tie in the nose of the bait or in the lip?Your lip or your line tie is in crooked ..bend your line tie the opposite direction slightly until your bait runs straight..Nathan
  3. My first thought is you guys need to spend time doing this as a hobby for a while before you even consider opening a business. The equipment needed to pour plastics or pour spinnerbaits is very different or the equipment needed to do wooden cranks or are you going to use PVC or are you going to pour them from foam?.... You have way to many unanswered questions to even consider a business...Nathan
  4. First have either one of you ever built your own lures before?... What type of lures are you wanting to make?Is this lure business going to be your only source of income?...The first thing you have to do when starting a business is write a business plan. That in it's self is a major under taking to do one right. I can tell you that the lure business is a very competitive place...You defiantly need to do your research ( your business plan will require that)...Nathan
  5. I've seen Gene's Punkinseeds (I have one in my collection!) and his Pikies..They are beautiful !!.. Nathan
  6. It's good to see you posting again!!.. Nathan
  7. That eBay site is ran by the manufacture ...he would answer any question you had prior to purchase but when you had problems or questions after purchase he wouldn't take or return calls .The stuff is weird ... I even tried sealing wood with it...One time it would penetrate just fine..The next time it would just puddle on the surface. Same thing when using it as a top coat..One time it would cover just fine and the next it would puddle. Gene ( Lincoya) had the same problem with the stuff...Nathan
  8. I've tried the stuff too...It puddles really bad too.Good luck having anyone return a phone call if you have problems with it...Nathan
  9. Can you put the yellow gown first (over white) then put your blue down?
  10. With your colors like flo.yellow etc. You need to paint them over a white background for the color to turn out right..Nathan
  11. It's a small swimbait..Nathan
  12. I orderd Johns DVD last week and finally had a chance to watch it over the weekend.I've got to say it is a MUST have for any lure building library. The DVD deals only with PVC lures but alot of what is demonstrated could be used with wood, etc. I've built lures for years and this really opened by eyes to new building and painting techniques. It can be orderd at: www.Johnscrankbait.com Let me be one of the first to say well done John.Congratulations and thank you!!...Nathan
  13. Hey Mark, I know with baits with the line tie directly in the nose you can increase the wiggle by bending the line tye down.I would assume (you know what they say about assuming!!..lol)a taller line tye in the bill would be a tighter action...Nathan
  14. You can work some clear silicone in to the tail..let it dry and trim the tail to any shape you want.I generally leave my fins alone and don't add the silicone...Nathan
  15. Congratulations on your success!!...It feels really good when all your labor pays off and the bait does what you hoped !!... Nathan
  16. Nice looking lure but the photo needs to go into our gallery not here on the forum...Nathan
  17. If you check some of the witchcraft tape products that Lureparts on line or Janns carries I think you'll find some similar products...Nathan
  18. I'll second that Skeeter..Coley definatley knows his stuff when it comes to molds and pouring baits!!.. Nathan
  19. Jeff, I was reading about this vent system on the link you posted and it said not to use it with flammable or explosive paints...I don't know if you saw that or not...Nathan
  20. Nathan

    Eye Screws

I'd be willing to bet your eyescrews were stainless covered brass and not solid stainless steel...Nathan
  21. It will give you a nice shiney bait but it won't give you much protection..Nathan
  22. You can pour your lead into your bait....just pour a little extra so it stands outside the bait...The second the lead skins over (from cooling)turn the bait over on it's belly and push down mashing the soft lead into the bait...I've built several hundred baits doing this and have NEVER had one returned ....Nathan
  23. The thick solution is for adding to the thin when your running low...That way you don't have to wait a couple days for the pellets to dissolve.Just pour in some of the thick add somemore acetone and mix and your ready to go...Nathan
  24. I use a Craftsman I've had for about 20 years with no problems..You can pick one up for around a 100.00 I think..Nathan
  25. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone...Nathan
