  3. Ok guys..I’m a wooden bait guy..I haven’t poured plastic in years and even then it was nothing like you guys do now.. I also tie fly’s..attached is a picture of a dragonfly pattern I’m working on.For the butt I used a Trout worm which worked perfectly but the worm is to stiff for my liking so I thought I’d pour my own.I’m looking for a easy mold to make...The diameter is about 1/8th inch and about 2” long.I thought I would add about 1/4” section necked down to a 1/16th” so it’s easy to tie to a hook. My Thought is to take two halves of wood and drill out with appropriate sized drill bits where the halves meet then spray the heck out of them with high heat paint to seal them up ..I would add appropriate spue holes at the top and bottom..What do you guys think?..Thanks..Nathan
  4. No problem..again..welcome!!..Nathan
  5. First welcome to the forum... youmay want to post your question regarding your lead bait down in the “Wire Bait” forum..Those guys should be able to give you some help on your project..This forum up here is more of a crank bait forum..as for the question on your paints and top coat I suggest you use the search feature here..it will give you days of reading on those topics..Nathan
  6. Just wanted to pass along a useful tool...I’ve built wooden Baits for over 25 years and just came across this a few months ago...buy one of these Loon mixing cups...They work fantastic for mixing up your top coat.Because they are made of a silicone type product the epoxies won’t stick to it...when the left over epoxy in the cup is dry..just squeeze the cup and the epoxy pops right out.It will be the best 8.00 bucks you’ll spend..They are available through Amazon..Nathan
  7. What are the fins coated with?..The fins I Make have clear silicone over them..The best thing I’ve found for holding them in is superglue jel..Nathan
  8. Tim, first..welcome back...as for your tutorial,it may have been lost in the site crash a few years ago.Unfortunaley ..A bunch of older information was at that time..Nathan

  10. I received a phone call from Lisa from Ed and Lisa’s eyes this morning. She was upset over the misunderstandings here. She was very upset over the problem with ddl’s order..just let me say..There are two sides to every story..and I’ll leave it at that. I couldn’t begin to tell you how many orders I’ve placed with them through the years.I’ve always received great service with timely shipments and at great prices..Nathan

  21. Concrete sealers will work as a dip and hang..hold them under for a minute or two then hang to dry..( dab off excess..)when dry.. give a light sanding and dip in and right out of the sealer this time..let dry again and move on..Nathan
  22. I never mix it with my top coat...I either mix my glitter with a little poly acrylic..That way I can use different colors on different parts of the body ( such as green glitter over a brown back..and pearlescent on a white belly) You can do the same thing with spray on glitters..but I think applying with a brush gives you a bit more control.Using very fine glitter is a huge help. When done glittering..apply your top coat..Nathan
