  1. Fish_N_Fool, I'm not a soft plastic guy,I build wooden lures.I was looking at your design and I think your going too run into a problem when you find the buoyant (spelling) material your looking for.Your bait is going too roll over. You have more buoyant material on the bottom of the bait than you do the top which will cause it too roll over. You need too flip the bait and put the flat part on the bottom.Trust me on this..Nathan

    dick nite

I've played around with it and liked it.I dipped my lures, and put on a wheel too dry.2-3 dips will equal 1 coat of devcon.Only draw back too it is after you open it,the curing process begins. Besure too keep your unused topcoat sealed up and as air tight as you can.DONOT pour any left overs back into the can..Nathan
  3. Very interesting stuff Rofish..You may want too try using elmers rubber cement as a temporary glue for your test bills. It holds well, only takes a couple minutes too set up,and a little wiggling, you can easily remove the bill without damage too you bait or bill..Nathan
  4. I think red hooks can make a difference ,AT TIMES..by no means is it a magic bullet.Shallow running cranks, and top waters only..Red is the first color filtered out of the color spectrum.Usuually within the first 2-4 ft. depending on water clarity..etc.I also think it's funny seeing deep diving cranks,Jigs etc. with red hooks or diving bills..Nathan
  5. The bibs will work at several different angles,I'm just not sure what your looking for.Thats where the experiments come in.Just rough out a bait and seal the wood, and go from there. You may go through several versions before you arrive at what you want,so don't waste your time finishing a bait until you arrive at the finall product your looking for..Also,I've found the steeper the angle you mount the bib at,it seems too push your bait higher out of the water..Nathan
  6. Welcome too the site. The Pie pan Idea is a good one,but may take a little bit of trial and error too get the angle, etc. correct. You will not be able too attatch your line tie too the bib though. The pie pan material isn't heavy enough too hold up too the abuse.Just put a eyescrew into the wood just above the bib and tie too that..Nathan
  7. You maybe able too cut out the remaining bill from the body with a bandsaw or a hack saw blade.Be VERY CAREFUL doing this, and make your cut as clean and straight as you can. After it is removed epoxy in a similiar diving bill..Nathan
  8. They sink very slowly, giving you very good control on depth. Also, the leading hook on each trebble is cut off eliminating most snaggs..Anything else?..Nathan
  9. Longball..How true...I named my son Devcon..and my daughter..you guessed it..E-tex.. ..Nathan

    Pro staff

Joe, Ghost is right..Look for the little guy. Also, watch the fishing forums. You are looking for guys who are active and vocal in these forums.I don't know how many you are looking for your pro staff but you may want too recruite from across the country having some from the North,South, etc. Be prepared too be burned a few times,it WILL HAPPEN.There is always a few just looking for a hand out.But when you come across those few who move your product, they are worth there wait in gold..Nathan
  11. Another Missourian!!..I would use the Basswood dowels. That way you can use eye screws. If you use balsa, you will have too through wire it for strength.I would put the weight in the last "quarter" area of the bait. This will make it much easier too walk the dog with your new bait..Nathan
  12. Hey Guys..Sorry for the slow reply.I didn't realize the "TU Events" forum wasn't visible too you guys yet. Ebay Clear Coat

I received my bottle of this stuff a couple weeks ago..and have played around with it a bit.I used it for dipping.3 dips spaced about 15 min. apart will give you the same thickness as one coat Devcon. The coat it EXTREMELY clear when dry.(besure too use a wheel while drying)I had no problems with the finish.I took 1 of the lures after about 36 hrs and places in a bowl of water.after approx. 8 hrs,I noticed some of the top coat leaching in too the water.I gave the Company a call, and he said the top coat hadn't cured all the way.He said too place the baits in the oven for 30 min. at 110 degrees too speed up the process..It works great. I REALLY think this stuff shows promise..Nathan
