  4. If you guys have gotten your new catalogs from Stamina, you've probably noticed those bits listed near the eye screws. Those were designed and made by Tom S. who joined us here a few weeks ago...Thanks to Tom,and a little horse trading,I got one of each size.I had a bunch of Assassins to put together last nite (each one takes 7 eye screws..The 12" takes 8 )..Only thing I can say is WOW!!..Talking about a time saver, and wrist saver....These things are worth every penny if you use many eye screws. The .072 size works great for the .062 eye screws too...Nathan
  5. I wonder if a lazer printer would eliminate the ink smear problem..Nathan

  9. I agree with Coley...your ink must not have set on the decals.Polyacrilic is a water based product,I've never had that problem....also make sure your decals are complete dry before applying..Nathan
  10. Good point Badfish....I didn't think too tell him to cut from the hide side..I've done it so many times,I forgot a very important step!!..Nathan
  11. You'll want to get the magnum strips wich are cut wider..But I don't think any of them are cut a inch wide. You may want to buy whole hides, and cut them your self.If you choose to do this, don't lay them flat on a table to cut.If you do,you'll cut all the hair off.Clamp the corners of the hide to a table, and pull the hide tight, and cut. This allows the hair to move out of the way of the blade, and leaves it attatched to the hide.Due a search for dyed rabbit hides, you'll come up with several companys. There is one out in Oregon that I've dealt with that has good prices, free shipping and beautiful hides..Nathan
  12. FF...You really worry me..only you would make createx boil with a heat gun..!!
  13. If your looking for a fuller look..use the straight cut...when wrapped, the fur tends to come out at a 90 degree angle, instead of laying back at a 45 like the crosscuts...Nathan
  14. Welcome aboard!!..alot of talent around here...and sure cuts that learning curve!!..Looking forward to seeing some of your creations..Nathan
  15. These are two different products....That will give you some protection, but not near as much as a epoxy product..Nathan
  16. Actually...you can use it as a top coat..(get the clear)..but you'll have a matt finish on it,with a rubbery feel to it.I've only used it on larger lures because it adds some weight to them.Rustolem make a similiar product, but in spray form..Nathan
  17. Go to wallyworld and get a can of Minwax polyactilic..Dip your lure in it,and let drip dry..(watch for any build up and absorb it up with a paper towel) when it is dry, you'll be good to go with your top coat..Nathan

  21. Hey guys..Just came across this site: www.Captainhookswarehouse.com Has anyone dealt with them before?..Prices don't look to bad..Nathan
  22. Tom, thanks for the comments on my baits....You don't have to ballast weight them....but I do.The front hook is generally enough weight..But a little lead in the front tends to give you a little more reliable action..and I thinks keeps them stable for higher speed trolling. The idea of increasing the surface area with lexan is definatley worth a try..Nathan
  23. I don't know if this fits into the catagorie of a "crankbait" but you can achieve what your looking for by going to a bait with a "cut face" at about a 45 degree angle.Your line tie placement should be just a hair low from center. You can get a bait you can troll at 5mph,and you'll get a good swimming action, with the random "hunting" action your talking about..Nathan
