    Making money

If you want to make any money at this, you have to remember the type of client your courting...the average guy who fishes a few times a year is going to Wal-mart...He is not going to drop 20-30.00 bucks for a lure. You are looking for the tourney fisherman.....they are looking for that little edge that may put several thousand in there pocket...or the trophy hunter like the boys out in California.......they'll drop 100.00 for a swimbait if it's a proven trophy bait. This is all assuming your after the Bass Market....If your looking at the Muskie market,a 20.00-25.00 dollar bait doesn't even raise a eyebrow. Quality is the key here...If you build a better mouse trap...."They will come"..Nathan

  7. I have had the same problem with other brands of paint.I'm not for sure if the top coat is reacting with the base coat or the base coat isn't all the way dry before I've painted the top coat.Try letting the base coat dry over nite before adding the top coat.....it seems to help..Nathan
  8. I'll second that..!!! and Merry christmas to you George....Nathan

  10. KYbuilder,......Your new around here, and probably didn't realize the can of worms you just opened with that Etex,Devcon question..LOL!!...Your game plan sounds good....Use which ever your comfortable with on the Etex,Devcon choice..Nathan
  11. Richoc,....I love it!!...I was born and raised in California, and Transplanted to Missouri in 1995......How true that all is!!..Nathan
  12. Get a copy of Janns netcraft catalog. They have the largest selection of eye screws around. On baits that size,I'd go with .062 diam. 3/4" length..Nathan
  13. Hey Jed, You definatley have a work of art there...Great job Shawn!!..Nathan
  14. Good Job...that should put some fish in the boat....as for the addiction...there is no cure....I wouldn't want one anyway!!..Nathan
  15. Congrats. Terry..Great article,and you deserve it...your work is beautiful.Thanks for the "plug"..for TU!!..Nathan
  16. Another problem with how the AC plug is done is all the sharp edges left in the tail section..it allows to much untreated area left exposed to water, thats one of the reasons the paint crack so bad. Also, those pins are a pain to deal with..Nathan
  17. You can use a piece of heavy guage wire, and epoxy it into the wood of the lure. Then slide your Reaper on the wire and add a drop of super glue to hold it in Place...or,like Ken told me to do,...use a finishing nail instead of the wire..Nathan
  18. Seems like i've seen those face shields in the Bass Pro catalog in the boat supplies section..Nathan
  19. I guess I'll go against the grain here....on small crankbaits (ultra lights) when I needed a light bill I've used plastic from milk cartons and it worked great. But these were very small bills, and the pressure put on them would be very little..Nathan
  20. Sounds like a interesting experiment Jed...I also just dip mine in minwax polyacrilic, let dry and go.I'd be interested in seeing your results..Nathan
  21. Great stuff Coley!!!!!!!!!..Nathan
  22. I'll have to go see if I can find them,I made 3 of them..they are laying in my discard pile some where in my shop..Nathan

  24. Maddox...How far are you from Clinton,Mo......it's about 70 miles south of Kansas City..Nathan
  25. I too think the regional thing is the way to get this off the ground....after enough regonal get togethers maybe a national one could happen.
