Jed, I have a thought (everyone take notice....I don't have them often!!)You said envi. was puddling......I haven't made any photo lures yet,but have made logo's using decal paper.I had the same problem with Devcon puddling on the decals.Something about the surface of the paper not excepting it....I fixed this by dipping the entire lure(with decal attatched) in polyacrilic,when dry I had no problem with the coverage with Devcon. I wonder if this would solve the puddle problem with enviro...Also keep that in mind if you try decal paper with devcon. Sincerly A Devcon fan forever...Nathan

I've noticed that about devcon at walmart too.....Life really sucks....they don't even bother to check my ID for age!!!!..LOL!!..Nathan

Radu, I've never built lures for the species your talking about,but I have built some big poppers for Stripers,muskie,and peacocks. As far as wood goes,I've used pine,and it worked great.I've also used .092 eye screws epoxied in place,and have never had one pull loose..Nathan

Jed, The decal is never really sticky,when you have the decal in place blot the extra water up on and around the decal.As the decal dries,it dries to the wood,etc....Nathan

Jed, Check out www.Micromark.com They carry the decal paper.They have a online catalog,but I suggest you send off for one(free),they have a ton of stuff you'll find useful..Nathan

Hey Jed, Maybe I'm missing something here.....Why don't you print your copies of fish onto decal paper?....(like the stuff they put decals on models etc)It's thin,lays over countours well,and when dry stays put. I haven't tried any photo finish lures yet( I want to,but haven't gotten to it yet!!)but have used decal paper for logos on lures and it works great!!..Nathan

YS, Don't feel stupid...(or maybe we both should...LOL!!)I have some of the same hooks,and I wondered the same thing!!!...I removed mine. Just make sure the wire is lined up with the end of the hook...Nathan

Max mauer from Oregon sent me a picture of his latest catch on a Assassin.......He said for a 15 pounder it didn't fight much...it just kept diving for the bottom!!!...He didn't practice catch and release with this beauty....He was considering a skin mount,but thinks he'll do a fiberglass mount instead!!!LOL!!..Nathan

Coley, I had a meeting today at noon with those working to set this up.A new tourist board has been formed here,and to be honest I feel like a feather in the wind.I've never seen so much red tape in all my life!!! The long and short of it is they have changed their minds on the date....The new date is set for April 23rd-24th. I do think this spring date will be better for us in the fishing industry,but I told them that months ago when they were throwing the idea of a show around.(I guess there aren't enough $$$ signs after my name!!) I've had a few locals laugh at my prices,and quickly say they can buy fishing lures at Walmart for 3.00.....I simply point to the door,and tell them to have at it!! With the internet,it has made selling lures a bit easier...you can reach so many more people who know how to appreciate a well made hand crafted creation!!..Nathan

Trout, Plasicgrip (the stuff you dip your tool handles in) use to make a spray on clear version of the stuff.I'd found it at Coast to Coast stores.That stuff gave you a clear matt rubber finish that was tough as nails...Nathan
