YES YES , this is very true , I went with the cheap ones at first and they di well for a little bit but didnt hold and edge as well and are harder to get a good edge back on .

I have done some from glass , the metal tubing works well also , one shot gun shell is a bunch of beads .

You might have heard this one already , but it a good one . A TU member was stopped by a game-warden in Northern Algonquin Park recently with two buckets of fish leaving a lake well known for its fishing. The game warden asked the man, "Do you have a license to catch those fish?" The man replied to the game warden, "No, sir. These are my pet fish." "Pet fish?!" the warden replied. "Yes, sir. Every night I take these here fish down to the lake and let them swim around for a while. I whistle and they jump back into their buckets, and I take em home." "That's a bunch of hooey! Fish can't do that!" The man looked at the game warden for a moment, and then said, "Here, I'll show you. It really works." "O.K. I've GOT to see this!" The game warden was curious. The man poured the fish into the river and stood and waited. After several minutes, the game warden turned to the man and said, "Well?" "Well, what?" the man responded. "When are you going to call them back?" the game warden prompted. "Call who back?" the man asked. "The FISH!" "What fish?"

I wash all my netting in the washing machine with a load of laundry , it makes it softer and easier to work with . When the netting has a bunch of paint on it I wash it by hand in the sink with some mild soap and it will clean the loose paint off of it and also "season" it back to being very soft and form fitting . Also you will find once the netting is "seasoned" it will conform better at the bottom of the lure and almost stick to itself . When I use my worn netting i dont use any clamps just wrap it around and hold it with my hand and it does well . I added a few pics i just took . Yes you paint your hand also but that kinda fun . I think the biggest problem is taking the clamps off of the netting with out disturbing the paint . Also the angle you spray the paint at can be a neat effect also . I have some big netting that I can do a neat carp scale effect with , I wil post some pics if you want to see it . PS reds wife has the tule left over from HIS dress

I get many a day from both . I did get a real one from the power sellers group about not haveing a phone . I thought it was a joke and sent a nice 1-900 number to them . They email back not thinking it was as funny as i did . but as stated they just asked to goto the site itself and update my info , they will in a real one not have any links just instructions on how to do it , goto eba , go to site map ect but no links . You can type a link in an email that looks real but it is just a redirect tha sends you to a fake site .

I make some large swin bait for a couple on the pro circut , not sure which one , but I talked to him alot about the pro fisher thing . He was telling me some of the issues and stuff with sponsers and it is quite complex , as discused here lure endorsment . Also he was saying it comes all the way to where each sponsers decal/sticker is on your boat . If i was rich , which I will be when my daughter marries into the Goodwin fortune , estate or empire even , I would like to sponcer a huge pro tourny and before launch take away all the baitcasters and spinning reels and give them bamboo cane poles with some worms and a fly rod . and sit back on the dock and listen to all the bull whip cracks coming off the lake . hehe . sorry my brain kinda wonders which makes people wonder . But this guy was telling me all the pressure and stuff that goes on down to pulling up for wieght in and cutting all the lures off your line so no one sees what you were really throwing , makes sense after reading all this . He had me make him a few 10 inch , umm male thingy lures that he would tie on his line and leave laying on his rod and reel on the deck of his boat and see who peeps to have a look .

I have run auctions for charity through a company called mission fish in which i am regisered with . They are neat cause they have 100's of charitys in from which you can choose from . the last one I did was benifiting childrens hospice foundation .

yeah well this was going to be just on of my odd fish carving things and it ended up with a engine on its back . I dunno I just keep carving .

I use alot of the auto air , a heat gun and an infered lamp and its all good . I just got a 400 dollar paint order in but it goes quick when its 25-35 bucks for 4 ounces . Good stuff

Not to beat this answer like my wife is beating me in court but practice practice practice and practice . I have noticed a decrease in my airbrushing since I didnt use it for a few months . But once again I have started airbrushing every thing in sight in my house . I also found painting something besides lures also helps , paint an odject with dramatic curves on it and try to follow them , it will make the smaller curves of a lure seem like a piece of cake . If your ever in VA stop by and lets paint some stuff ! I have had many people come over to paint that wanted to try airbrushing and didnt want to buy all the stuff first .

4) I've got a band saw. Is a belt/disc sanding machine a good investment and the best way to do the initial sanding? Lowes had these for $100 This is what I started on is the delta 99 dollar sander . I got my moneys worth !! I just bought the delta 6 X 48 belt 12" disk sander , its 1 1/2 hp and will throw a lure blank across the shop and stick it into a wall if you dont hold on !!

I belive my dowels are 5/16 inch . Some of the odd things I turn on it with that size are well over a pound in wieght . I will add a drop of epoxy to the thread on the bigger stuff and let it dry before letting it spin .

i usaly wait a few hours till i turn on my heat lamp , it will get the epoxy flowing again if i turn it on to soon

Createx also makes a line of paint called detail colors , they are thinner than the regular ones for more detailed work . I have the black splatters at times also .

wow a thousand ways to prime a lure !!! I submitted a tutorial on how I prime them . I dip them and let them dry for a few days . I am also priming up to 100 lures at once so I found with me airbrushing the primer it took 100 times as long . For my odd shaped baits I use my airbrush cause dipping them can get clumpy if you have alot of detail in them .

The paint from japan is kinda a luck thing , the guy I talked to had some one bring it over so I am not sure on that , but from the looks its some gooood stuff !! I like house of kolors , my friend is working at an autobody dealer so I have gotten free paint . I have not trid HOK expensive flip flops and such yet , but their regular colors are real nice .

That mixer is sweet !! It only holds up to a one ouncer though . I am just about finished converting my dewalt sawzall into a paint shaker !!! Those flip flop colors will ruin your elbow !! I will post pics
