    FLW Okachobee

2 days of weigh-ins on FLW live and wow. If you listen you know why Senkos are so hot and Yamamoto does not want you infringing. Everyone was using them. Also seems Flukes, kinami flash (senko) and help from anyone here a "Gambler 8"? It went fast but i swear I heard Nathan, Ratz's and Al's names on that podium Also for those of you who wonder Yamamoto/Kinami, rumor is Gary did not allow all "vendors" to carry his product. Derek (son and in 8th place on FLW co-angler side) created Kinami to cover all other markets. Anyone want to clue me in on a Gambler 8? Also, who makes a "cricket" Thanks
  3. Hit the garage sales and find old vacumes that work. I got one over my plastics and one over my lead. You dont need the entire vacume, just the motor and the hoses. I attached a funnel to the end of one and with enough hose I hung it from the roof and can adjust lower or higher. Works pretty good and cheap. The only negative is the noise
  4. I see nothing wrong with Al's Worms (alsworms) calling Al's Enko (alsenko) or Al's Craw (alscraw) or whatever Al's wants to call its baits. keep up the good work Al! No disrespect to Yamamoto he makes a hell of a bait, but look in Bass Proshops new catalog or Janns net craft's or Barlow's for that matter. Thay all advertise them under different names. I think the name is what they are protecting and have every right to. I see no problem with your Enko Oh yeah, you ever see Wave Worms "tiki sticks"? I would like to see a copy of the fan mail you got if you wouldnt mind posting it.
  5. Gentleman, I am not on the business side but definately on the buyers/users side. Here are a couple of tips that I think would help. First, Chris (Al) is absolutely correct. If the site is slow, "goodbye". There are 1000's of sites selling the same thing. You are unique and that may be what we are looking for but if we get hung up you will lose us. Whenever I hear of a bait or bait maker that "another fisherman" does good on, you can bet I am going to inquire. Be carefull though, if I find out it was a scheme to get people to buy, you lost me and as many others as I can spread the word to. The worst thing is, this is a common practice amongst the fisherman who get kickback's. It is even worse when the "maker" brags about there Prostaff winning on there bait when there bait was never used. Social suicide. Last and I think the most important, Make your website like I am walking into a tackle shop. Hang your baits on a wall and put a picture of this on a website. When I walk into a shop, I look for what is missing or has the least on the peg, so instead of a counter showing quantity, show how many have been sold. You can also utilize this as to what colors work in what geograpical areas. I know Pro's who prefish, stumble on to something big and go clean out as much of the local supply as possible. Oh yeah, when I see what colors are gone or low, I go home and make it Good luck and support other members of this site.

    Fatratz Jigs

On New Years Eve I was fortunate enough to get a package in the mail. I wasnt expexting it anytime soon but BAM! there it was. I got my order of custom made Jigs from Ratz and that picture does not do them justice. I ran out and bought a new plano case for them as nothing that good looking could go in a used one. Now if I can bring myself to use one. New pic next week of entire lot.

    Fatratz Jigs

Guys, look no further if you buy jigs. I thought his spinnerbaits were tops and he put his touch in these for me.
  8. You all by now have heard of the AC plug created by Alan Cole. Soon you will be hearing about the NB plug (aka Assasin). Yep thats Nathan Bettencourt. The AC was created by Alan Cole and continues to prove itself time and time again especially by Alan himself. In this Plug in our local Newspaper you will see both above mentioned names in the same article. Merry Christmas Nathan
  9. Now you all know Santa has a naughty and nice list, but if you want to get some good stuff under the tree, than being naughty is the key. You see, Mrs Clause has the check book (atleast in my house she does) and you are asking for something that will most likely lead to time away from her. So if you want those new rods, brand new Quantum E600's or any other fishing related items that nine times out of ten will cause you to be away from Mrs. Clause, than the naughtier the better. Censorship Jerry?
  10. I doubt this will have any effect on the 3 billion dollar a year industry let alone soft plastics. If they allow this in tournaments than I could go down to the store, buy some immitation crab meat and go fishing, I may have to cut it into worm looking pieces but basically its the same thing. You can already use live minnow, shiners, shad and or crawfish when recreation fishing (we will never master that with artificials). Besides, taste and sent are the last thing you have to worry about. You need to find and "LURE" the bass first. Once the bass is lured the taste/salt makes the fish hold on longer which will allow you to feel the fish before the fish feels you. Bottom line, Beleive in you and your fishing abilities and it wont matter what you use when you fish. As for us baitmakers, we need to stay away from the gimmicks and offer a nice looking "AFFORDABLE" product. That is the way to attract that 3 billion.
  11. I saw this first hand and it worked. Some of the baits out there dont harness the hooks. They have a hollow tube (possibly connected to the lead weight insert) which allows for your line to slide directly through the nose and ties directly to the treble (A very large treble). This allows the hook to play the fish freely seperating from the lure. Good luck.
  12. I set my Pro partner up with Al's (Chris) awhile back as a prostaffer. Seems his last order from Chris has done justice for both. I set my Partner up to do a shoot for the local news here in town to cover Bass fishing on Lake Mead. With Camera on, My Partner put a nice fish in the boat with the sports guy netting it on one of Als worms. I am trying to get a digital copy for Chris. Maybe Jerry can stream it some how when I do. Good job Chris.
  13. Awhile back I asked for jigs and where to get them. I must say, not only does ratz make killer spinner baits but here is what he made me. I had to resize it so I hope the picture does them justice.

    BOB 1

Wow, Nice job all on BOB1. I couldnt imagine sticking a plastic whatever against those. Good luck red on picking a winner
  15. I keep my plastic in the 5 gallon bucket it comes in and use water bottles from that. In the water bottles I learned from someone on here to put a nut or a screw in the bottom, this helps mix it up alot faster and it works. when I run out of water bottles (usually fill 2 or 3 at a time) than back to the bucket. The bucket i mix with a cordless drill and a mixer. the mixer i use is one from home depot and has the adjustable top blade. Just keep lowering it as the level goes down, mixes the 5 gallons in a couple of minutes.

    Jigs

I can not find bassermans website Does anyone know where he is or does anyone else make jigs that they sale? Guide me to your site. Thanks
  17. Thanks Jerry, No sneering here, Just qualifying made me happy. I just want you to know I promoted Tackleunderground every chance I got. I love showing some of the baits off. I even forke over a couple of the spinner baits to a pro who was very impressed. He likes those wavy blades from (I hope i am right) Country Kat. the two baits I was able to catch fish on were from ryno plastics (the Trout, sorry man wish it was a bass) and I am pretty sure the trailer was from tubeman. Nathan I threw your swim baits for 3 hours in practice but it seemed soft swim baits were the trick. Thanks all, maybe next year.
  18. Sorry guy's No win and never a sack of cash in WON tournaments unless you win. Fun as hell though and very tired. Took 6th in a team tourny on Mead Saturday and left for Cachuma Lake in Santa Barbara Sunday. Most of you would probably consider it a pond as it is very tiny but man does it have some quality fish. I ended up with a 2 day total of 5 fish for 16.18lbs which tied me for 9th and got me a little hotel money back. I prefished 1.5 days and threw everything I had and caught 1 3lb trout (I have picture). It came of a little green worm with gold flake I got in the swap. During the tournament on the first day we flipped and we flipped and we flipped some more. I caught 2 nice fish on bassermans Black and blue jig one with a zoom blue trailer and the other with a Black with blue trailer I got in the swap (very stinky). Day 2 I stunk the place up, fortunately for me My Pro caught 2 nice fish. One of them was a 2.5lb small mouth on a 9" mission trout.
  19. Speaking of those links down there, I was playing and I noticed this site was #20 and #21 was tacklemaking. I cant beleive how far back my posts go on that site. Even than I was scrounging for baits from most of you .

    Battle

Red, Very nice set up on the battle of the baits. With the creativeness we will see all those little counters on the bottom reflect this site as #1 in no time.
  21. Just my experience and it is limited as I have only ordered from MF and Lurecraft. I have never had a problem with MF as far as color goes but cant say the same for lurecraft. As for glitter I use both companies but prefer MF and go to lurecraft for what MF does not have. Also something I noticed is the glitter shrinks when melting (or I am getting old and my eyesight is getting bad) I add it as late in the melting as possible.
  22. Yep, that is the seeker shad body but this is the one celt makes on the buzzbait frame. Celt and Ratz make spinner baits that should be on the shelves (or shouldnt for my sake .) Thatr little crank by Nathan is another one of his creations. It has blades out the sides of it. I was asked to test it and it has been modified a little. It came with larger hooks. The rear having a feather but the feather and the blades would tangle on entry from time to time. Nathans mind has unlimited possibilities, I can almost hear the gears and sprockets here in Nevada.

    Chirmy

The local boys master that lake and those team tournameents. Very big small moouth in that lake. I emailed you my phone number. Call or if you are brave and want to catch little fish there are team tournaments at Mead both Saturday and Sunday.
  24. By now I am sure you have all heard the commercial, "Whats in your wallet". Well this morning I was going to post a picture showing what was in my tacklebag. You dont even know how long that would have taken. I have baits from baitmakers starting back at the beginning of the other site. Starting from Swede, Funnyfarm, Nathan, Paul and the list goes on 30-50 names long. These 2 are just a sample of my newest additions I thought I would share as I thought it best not to give my "secrets out". I can assure you thet with the exception of some zara spooks, Speed traps, a few lucky craft and 50 packs of robo worm oxblood (the best color), the rest are quality hand made baits by members of this site. The spinner by Celticav and the Crank by Nathan.
  25. Very good stuff. stinky, pretty and a little diferent. all the right characteristics of catching fish. Earth, I am a non labeler. What I make is what I fish with. Never got into the labeling. Use Mercs picture page as a reference guide. Cant wait to post 100 pictures with everyones baits.
