  1. Merc, Please ship as promised this wed. I have a team tournament on Nov 8, and I leave for the Western Classic on the 9th (tournament is 11thand 12th) I would like to have the option to try all the members baits. You never know one of them might be the one. As for the slow pokes, each participant must accept responsibility. For whatever reason they appear to have gotten over their head. Understandable when you first enter a swap not knowing 20+ will have entered. At this point they should forefit the $5.00 and let everyone else get on with the swap. That is what this site is all about , to live and learn. As for my extra baits, put them on EBAY and bankroll some cash for your time and effort. (if you could get anything for them)
  2. The 208, Watermelon red flake. But not in senko style but the twin tail spider grub.
  3. the solid flukes are simple. someone in here hit it on the nose when they discussed just setting the worm on top of the resin allowing them to sink in. because the bellies are heavier they sit perfectly. problem with this is they tend to float into each other. You have to babysit while they cure. As for the flukes with the split bellies, they dont come out so good as the resin does not fill the gap enough. Either way, once you are done you can make flukes your own way and one way I higly recommend is with 50% salt. Makes an incredible deeper jerk bait. Good Luck
  4. Ask Merc if he would do it every year . I feel for you guys and your fishing time tables. Not to throw salt in the wound, but, 94 degrees yesterday and the team circuits are just getting underway. I think I would convulse if I had to winterize my gear.
  5. Nathan, If I had the answers, I would help you. I have found out recently that lately even shipping to Canada takes weeks and customs is involved. Wish I had more to offer you,
  6. Just lick them and stick them thats all I do. wash your samples in dawn and water to get all residue, salt etc. off the bait. Also wash your dish in the dishwaher and let dry, dont use a towel. Works 9 out of 10 times. When cured pull your worm out and take a spoon, screw driver, upside down razor blade or anything else that you can run clong the edges and smooth out the top sides.
  7. Gentlemen, When I first started, I tried over and over to do a 2 part poly resin mold. After my last try i threw the mold in disgust. this particular mold was of a Senko. The senko like al my other attempts was totally cured in the resin. The mold broke in half upon impact and I was able to pull out the senko. I am now able to pour 1 senko at a time in whatever color I want. I have never tried to do a 2 part resin mold again. The 2 halves always seem to cure together no matter what I used or how long I left the first half cure.

    sunglasses

Who makes the best polarized sunglasses? also does anyone know of any of the major supply shops take paypal? Thanks,
  9. I can not wait to get mine. Looks great Celt
  10. Not sure how many of you are spur of the moment persons and financially able to do this but the opportunity is here. Wonbass is short AAA's for this weeks tournament at Havasu and have extended the deadline to register until they have enough AAA's to match the Pro's. If you are able, contact Wonbass.com Entry is 175.00. Travel is where ever you come from. If you need assistance with sleeping arrangements ask Wonbass or let me know.
  11. The MS motoroil comes out just like the store bought worms. I would go to them for a bottle. Motoroil with a gold flake is awesome.
  12. Heeeeeeeeeelp. Today spent 8 hours floating the Colorado River north of Havasu and managed 2 runts, 1 smallie (very smallie) and 2 sun fish. I would be interested in some feedback on how some of you manage Rivers? It sucked, the current is always taking you away. Trying to get into back water through the tullies was impossible and you would think there would be 1 fish in there? I kid about sucking as I was fishing and never will that suck, but, anyone have any advice?
  13. I would be curious as who was it who told you you could get free handouts here? Also, as an competitive fisherman who would read just about anything, I would be curious as to where you post your reviews and on what products? Last but not least, Celticav makes the seeker shad (my go to). Because of him and Fatratz and a few others on this site I will never put a store bought spinnerbait in my bag again. You might want to not upset them and perhaps get to know them a little bit. They are class acts and make THE best spinnerbaits.
  14. Ok, 6.00 has been paypal to Cool baits and 20 bags of 10 are ready to be mailed. Because I do bags of 8 some of you (very few) will get inhalers with a couple of Del's 4" drop shot style. I had about 8 colors available most in my go to colors Green pumpkin red flake, late summer shad (special), smoke black flake, blue silver flake, blue w/silver, blue and black flake, red with black flake and 1 bag of girly color. These are my personal stock and each color has caught fish. I wish I could of put 1 of each color in for everyone but to prevent bleeding I had to keep them seperate. Hope you enjoy.
  15. If you can exclude someone this late in the game, can you include someone? I will forward the funds and the baits tomorrow if you say OK? I have 190 inhalers in various colors laying around so there will be no time lapse etc...
  16. Yesterday I spoke to the owner of Hookhider rods and he has this to offer some of you custom rod makers. You see the concept of the rod is the butt of the handle where you slide the hooks of you lure into the handle. From experience they work quite well. Any way they are willing to ship some of these butts out to custom rod makers for you to put on some of your rods and sale. You dont pay for them until you sale the rod. If you are interested go to hookhider.com and contact them. If you have questions on them or need any additional information let me know.

    DropShotting

Del, You think you can show a picture of what you are talking about? Do you just tie a fly on the line with a palomar knott? What size hook fly etc... Sounds different and sometimes different is all that is needed.

    US Open Draw

Hey Del, Donnavan Sparrow, Bob Simmons and Dick Watson. What are the chances I will see you at Havasu?
  19. Here is one for you, I took an 3.5 inch bold and cut the head off. I laid it in the bottom of one of my lead pot melter thingies and poured lead over it. I can now pour plastic flat bellied screws they come our pretty clean but the threads can screw them up if you dont let cool long enough.

    Forrest Who?

Yes, the eyes are red and that is a casino in the background, but how often does the owner of Ranger Boats give you his busines card and writes on it "Give Tim a huge cut". Think Mr. Woods wants my wife to buy me a Ranger Boat?

    US Open Draw

Wow, Thanks everyone. I tried my best. My hands have arthritis after three days of holding and casting. Its all in the draw and as a worm fisherman I drew three power fishermen. (the wind did not help). I even tried dropshotting with 1/2 ounce dropshot weights. I ended up throwing blades and jigs for 2 days behind these guys and caught ample stripers and lost 1 fish at the boat ( a story in itself). On the last day the fish turned on at 305 pm and we had a 330 weigh in. My pro lost a 5lbr at the boat. Well off to sleep for 2 weeks than off to Lake Havasu for the final Pro/am of the year. Hopefully we can stay in the top 25 point standings for the year and qualify for the Western Classic in November at Lake Cachuma. I am telling you, I come to work everyday as usual but in those boats going 65 to 70 mph you can not wipe the smile from my face.
  22. You forgot Myers Congratulations is in order to John Kerr, I hear it was his first tournament as a Pro. I also spoke to Keven Martin as I saw him on your web site and inquired. I saw him 2 of the 3 days on the water and although he struggled he managed 2k for a fish. He is an extremely talented young fisherman. For anyone to go out and catch 27+lbs on Mead in the wind is an acheivement in itself. By the way, I threw buzzbaits and spinnerbaits by those of you who supplied them to me. In the windy conditions you would have thought they would slay them, just not in 20 to 40 mph winds I guess. I did manage 1 fish on Red's popper I got in the swap and 1 on the Doodlebug (2 in prefish). Thanks for everyones generosity and congratulations to SR and his pro teams efforts (for future reference where did Kerr fish)

    US Open Draw

Well, the draw came and I am in the first flight 7th boat out. Lets see if I cant put some of those baits to some big fish (in Lake Mead that is 3lbs +). Top 5 fish each day gets 2000.00. I put in the fishermans biography Tackleunderground.com so hopefully I can draw a few people here for you who sale your baits. I prefished with Byron Velvick on Friday and what a difference a mind like that can do to put you on fish. He "let me" stick 2 fish on my inhaler ) and both were 2.5 to 3.5 respectively. Never knew the Pro's went out and actually shook off fish. I will keep you posted if I have time.
  24. Here are the inhalers Ipoured in lead to make molding easier.
  25. I would say I went from the poor house to the mansion thanks to some great guys on this site. I have managed to ship out a couple dropshot kits to some of you (I had some old ratty boxes laying around) the rest of you will get yours soon. 2 weeks. I dont know how many of you fish competitively, but man am I excited. The Open is a combined weight format (means I dont have to catch a fish and still can win). Alot is luck of the draw. They tell me who I fish with, I get in, Sit down and shut up but kick their ass at the fishing hole. Last year I drew Mike Folkestadt the first day and he went on to win I went on to take 62nd . The second day I drew Dave Gleibe. Just for entering they give you about 200.00 worth of stuff and during the draw they give away big stuff. If you guys have vacation time next year and you can front the 600 entry fee or better yet 1600 and fish as a Pro you should try this.
