  1. Well I'm gonna find out. Just bought a couple packs. LOL. Do you know how long they've been out?
  2. Yeah that makes me think of a fish I caught a few months back on a Rage Craw. Missed a fish in about 3 feet of water an threw right back in there. As my craw was in the air, I told my son, "My bait looks weird. I think it's missing a claw!" This time I didn't miss it and sure enough when I got it in, it was missing one claw. Obviously, that fish ripped it off when he slammed it and I didn't notice. I know fish will sometimes injure their prey before they nail it and I'm sure this is what happened. Also made me think why not make a mold with a missing claw?? Something to ponder.......
  3. I'm wondering how many of you have heard of (or fished with) the Cover Scat? Not sure how long it's been out, but people are saying it's the next Senko. Just a turd lookin' bait from Japan LOL! Looks like it would be an easy piece to make.
  4. I made this color years ago, so there might be better color options today, but I used MF Amber Green mixed with a touch of copper or gold hi-lite, then a pearl belly. If you'd like a darker back, you can use green pumpkin or brown watermelon instead of amber green. Can't find my cook book at the moment, but both those hi-lites are pretty interchangeable with those colors. Hope this helps. Good luck!
  5. I'd say Mark's recipe nails it.........and man was I way off!! LOL
  6. +1 Make sure there is no hardener on the bottom of your jug. Depending on the brand of plastisol, that stuff will separate.
  7. Man I'm so sorry I missed this post! Welcome to TU!!
  8. Different types of bones out there. Do you have a picture of what you're looking for?
  9. You might try injecting slower and at higher temps. I was a hand-pour guy and rarely injected, but this was usually the case with the few that I had. Good luck!
  10. This is really going to depend on what YOU want to make. Cheapest way would be to start with a couple open RTV hand pour molds, then move on to injectors from there. Completely different ball game.
  11. If you haven't made a soft plastic bait, I'd start there, THEN see if you want to turn this venture into a business. Tons of competition out there now. Best of luck!
  12. Those are sweet. That craw color, second from the right, would KILL on our local river!
  13. Need to see the swimbait you're talking about, but as for just basic straight tail worms, I believe I was able to get 750 to 800 small baits and around 600 6 inchers with a gallon of plastic. This is for a cavity that is very similar to Robo Worm. Also keep in mind that I took those figures once I knew a thing or 2 and didn't really over pour or make too many other mistakes at that point. Interesting topic, though. Currently my favorite swimbait is the 4 inch Megabass Spark Shad. I'd love to know how many of those can be made with a gallon.
  14. Yeah being primarily a fresh water bass fisherman, I was always amazed at some of those colors. Really fun to pour them!
  15. I used to make swimbaits for a salt water charter boat in southern California and Big Hammer is a great place to start. This was the color chart that I used. Pretty sure I've got the recipes for all these somewhere. If I remember right, Atomic Punk and Margarita are very close to Electric Chicken and baits like Toast and Kelp Kritter are similar to New Penny.
  16. LOL this actually sounds like a really cool idea and can't wait to see if it works out for ya! My crazy mind has come up with countless plastic ideas, but this is a new one for me. Good luck!!
  17. Nailed it. That will tell the story.
  18. Now I've gotta go out in my mess and check it out! LOL
  19. I used it exclusively with great results!
  20. I knew there had to be something else in there. Makes sense. Sure didn't know they were made in China though!
  21. Dang that wouldn't be good then. I just don't have any confidence in a spray scent. I feel like the stuff is gone after a couple casts. I have always wondered this about Googan stuff, guess I'll continue adding my own scent. LOL.
  22. Nice scent, can't really call it other than it's a HEAVY anise base.
