  1. Thanks again, guys. Seems these and swimbaits are the only thing I can catch fish on these days!
  2. Once again, I have to say it would be so cool if we could just ask the fish.
  3. That's what I was afraid of. I would imagine guys are using a bunch of heat stabilizer
  4. I have zero proof of this, but I've heard many times that garlic is used more for masking human scent rather than a fish attractant. Maybe that's just up in my head, but I never feel confident with it.
  5. I'm not sure I've ever seen white glitter in a bait. I'll bet I have without even knowing it. Now I'll be looking for it like crazy LOL. For you guys that use it, how does it hold up to temps?
  6. I'll pass this info on to my son. He's always looking for the nastiest scent. LOL
  7. Thanks, fellas. I guess these dudes are harder to find than I thought!
  8. Thank you, brother. I love those screw locks as well, but I was looking to purchase instead of make them. Anyone know who originally made this craw or is it just a standard mold?
  9. Just curious if anyone here is making a good copy of this bait? I have tried at least a dozen craws and I can't find the action like these. Anyone have any other craw favorites? And for anyone making these, shoot me a PM if you'd like. I'm going through these things like Skittles and I figured might as well support a TU member. Peace, friends
  10. Brother that 082 is magic! I'm in Fresno, so I get it. LOL. Hopefully, Wright can help you out.
  11. Keeper was my GO-TO worm back in the day, but I had no idea Wright took over. I should have known because I have bought more than my share. LOL Wright sells on Ebay and you can check all their stuff out here.... https://www.ebay.com/sch/realfishingsupply/m.html?item=164834770063&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.m3561.l2562
  12. Yup.......at a very hefty price! I looked at a radio station once for my pest business. 30 grand for 25 seconds that would have been played 3 times per week for one month. Hard pass! Can't even begin to imagine what a video piece would run!
  13. Yeah sorry I should have been more specific. I was heading out to work and in a hurry when I posted that. I have tried remelting just about every brand out there and what I've found is if they are mass produced, I just wouldn't risk it. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I wouldn't want third degree burns either. LOL.
  14. Personally, I wouldn't remelt any Senkos or anything from Zoom or Berkley. If you're not careful, it can be like tossing water in a frying pan.
  15. Very understandable........and thank you for clarifying.
  16. I agree with you guys. My line to my wife is always something like.... "But honey......it was only 18 bucks!!" Something under 15 bucks?? My wife's not believing it........she knows better. Hopefully you can add an item or 2 to your list to bring it to 15 bucks. Best of luck :-)
  17. As mentioned, LC is the way to go for open pour molds and they have a ton of swimbait models. God knows they have a bunch of my money. LOL. I'm sure you can find something very close, if not exactly like the spark shad. BTW.......that is my favorite swimbait as well. Simple yet very effective with killer action! Once you start pouring and learn a few things, you WILL want more molds. No doubt about that. The great thing about a swimbait mold is they are super easy to pour. No major appendages, claws, etc. Just one pour and done. Also when buying molds, try to stick to the baits that YOU will use and stay away from starter molds. Good luck!
  18. I'm a HUGE fan of Megabass swimbaits, especially the Spark Shad. Their albino is a difficult one, but I think I would start with just a touch of pearl. LC makes a color called minnow silver. I'd start with one part pearl and 3 parts minnow silver, then add a touch of violet or purple hi-lite powder. There is no doubt a hi-lite powder in that color. It's the base color that bothers me because you can't really do much in the way of changing a dominant color like pearl. Good luck!
  19. That is absolutely correct and Lure Craft made an old brown grape as well. Couldn't really tell the difference between the two. Completely bummed they discontinued them.

    Gold

I think gold hi-lite would be your answer
  21. I have only dealt with Lure Craft which is now owned by LPO, but by all accounts all 3 are solid companies.
  22. Not a newbie question. In fact, a very good one! As wallyc14 mentioned, make sure it's glass made for heating. There is a difference. Chance of a huge explosion if not! Also if you are just pouring for yourself on a small scale, you might consider the little tin cups. You can transfer prepared plastic from pyrex to the cups with nice results. Good luck!
  23. We are digging up a thread that's 10 years old and I STILL don't sharpen hooks.........and probably STILL should!!
