  1. Oh man have I made that mistake! lol Buying hardener to make up for screwing up the batch, then adding too much hardener, then adding softener......until you just give up and buy an entirely new batch.
  2. I once bought a 5-gallon jug of Lure Craft from a guy who said it was sitting for like 20 years. Let's just say I believed it!
  3. Not familiar with 2 or 3, but completely agree on 1 and 4. Then again, like Anglin mentioned, I never let an MF jug sit for 3 or 4 years. Just a little shaking of the jug before pouring and I was good to go. And to be honest, I don't even know it THAT was necessary.
  4. I might also add you'll need to check the hard packing on the bottom of the jug. The longer it sits, the better chance of that happening. Some brands more than others.
  5. Yes......looks great now. Thanks for all the hard work, fellas!!
  6. In that case, as Monte said, I'd go with blue hi-lite. I think blue powder would be too dominant.
  7. I don't see why light watermelon over light green pumpkin wouldn't work. I assume you tried that?
  8. There are a few different variations out there. Can you post a pic or let us know which brand you're trying to copy?
  9. Make sure you know what you're remelting before remelting!
  10. I hope I'm not the only one, but I've got an entirely different look to the site. I checked most other bookmarks before moving into panic mode, but this seems to be the only one. I just assumed some kinks are being worked out.
  11. Yup......good point. With the problems that many have encountered, I wouldn't think of ordering unless you talk to them first.
  12. Have you tried doing the tail color first, then pouring the body over that?
  13. I meant first site only. If you want to show off your colors, worm oil is the way to go because it will really make the baits shine, whereas salt will sometimes hide them. If I made baits for myself, it was salt all the time.
  14. I thought a pretty good rule was...... Attract fishermen: Oil Attract fish: Salt
  15. I shook them around in popcorn salt.
  16. Thanks for the repost, Rick. This is some really useful information!!
  17. LC is what I used and problem solved!
  18. I know a couple guys who did this, but it seemed like too much work for me. I chose to just mix.......and mix.......and mix......and mix.....which was probably more work.
  19. Oh don't get me wrong. I know why everyone does it. I just didn't have the options that are available today. As you mentioned, I'm not sure if I would have spent the money anyway. One thing I will kindly disagree on though........I never felt that I ended up with a poor quality product. If I sold it, I thought it was good quality. I just couldn't kick out the numbers that you guys are doing today.
  20. Once again, I have to go old school here...... I struggled with Junebug BIG TIME......until I changed over to black grape. It wasn't a glitter problem nearly as much as a color problem. Personally, I think the darker color masked any bleeding from the glitter. I could use pretty much any green glitter and make a nice junebug as long as black grape was the base color.
  21. Sadly, it's a thing of the past. The art is gone.
  22. If you look up top at the list of lure mold companies, many of those also sell colors.
