Hey Celt, I might have what your lookin for. You know How I had good luck on spinners and wanted to build mine right? Went to the only local store that has a variety of stuff. Well I picked up a bag of connector sleeves sz3 for making wire leaders. Made by berkley. this is the ONLY thing I could find at the moment besides stacking a fist full of beads on each other to space the blades out. Hope that might help. If not good luck in your search.

Some good lookin baits for sure.

Hey thats not bad with the silver glitter in it. Good job. Is that the 5 1/4" or the 4" mold?
-
Hmmm, do I hear a future FISH SWAP?
-
I dont know how close mine was to charkins, But I would like to see what his looked like. How about a pic charkins?

I have a throw net 4' and 3.5' that I gather shad with. The small shad work really well, 1.5-3" long. And I use cut shad as well 4"+. Going for BIG flat heads use bluegill or up to 6-8" carp. Put them just inside the holes they are laying in, and hold on..... If you hook up, you need to have that pole IN your hand or its IN the water......... But back to your question, shad mainly. Night crawlers dont attract them enough. Its a hit/miss thing then. Drum love worms, but dont hook up much on shad.

just gave ken a call, and he has a sample on its way for me to try. The plastic still doing good for ya?

Now Chris. If you like catfish that much, Come on out abd bring a big game rod woth you and a reel freshly spooled. I can get up to 60# of cat some nights. I also live about a hour and a half from the rock river and the mississippi. Flat heads there get to 40# and are quite common. ( Ima lookin for dat one) But on the Illinois river most are around 5# and up to 20# Some blues spotted over 40, Most are in the Good eat'n range. 2-6 lb My other half wants to get a fish fry going so it looks like I have to get to work on bring'n em in and cleanin em too. ( Awww man) Let me know if your gonna be out here and I wil point you in the right direction. ( ok i will show you my favorite spot) Just be prepaired! Oh and as far as glitter, I havent used much, But I will give it a try in the pink.

I still want to know why i had catfish attracked to it. But I will say my PT got one hell of a work out! I thought I had that bass of a life time on it. I was dissapointed with no bass, but it could have been worse.

I was wondering if and why red/white mixture couldnt be done for pink. I used slightly diffrent mix, but close. 6 oz 536, 5 drops red, 10 white, mix BEFORE cooking. and this is how it turned out.
-
Yep sure do. I add them after the fact. If they are like from lure craft (sharp and pointed at one ned) after the plastic has set I then insert them and add a drop of crazy glue to hold it in. I have had several work back out so its a easy way to keep em in there. Used em on the craws and my split tail 3". So you could use them on your world know lizzards. ( or sell them as a added accessory)

With the "Hot Pink" issue in the plastics area it made me wonder. went out and mixed red 5 drops and white 10 drops, mixed, cooked and hit the river. Now what I want to know is this. Do just large fish hate pink? Normaly i cast theese in white pearl, But today I poured the Pink mixture into my 3" split tail mold and went to the shallow flats that hold the duck blinds. Since this is the only structure around, I was doing a small flip right to the sides and inside the boat sheds attached to them. I seen a swirl at the corner of the blind closest to the channel, trolled over slowly, Pirched it just past the corner and swimming just past the corner it was hit hard. It was tearing the line off the reel and after all was said and done. It wasnt a bass....

No, I did work at the livingston cellars. Made wine for a season. It was only about 10 head that I helped take care of. I was able to take care of the ground squirrels out there as well. Have you tried stevens creek for small mouth? If im not mistaken it was the creek that is between Hilmar and Stevenson. I know that their is a small park and across the road was a tavern. The water their moved pretty fast, and has nice bends in it. Might be a good place to try out if you havent already. Shoot I wish I knew you guys when I lived out their, It would have been a blast to hook up and take off! Hey Chris, whats the word on the kings river? Yes tons of Jetski's I know, But didnt know if you ever hit it.

I have bad the same thing with several of Lure crafts colors. I tried to nuke it for about 15-20 seconds, then stir it and add to plastic, Still had a few pieces of color, but not as much as i did without warming up the bottle. Flo yellow, and motor oil were the only colors that did this to me. I will have to say "do NOT try this with minnow silver!" Unless you want to see a spark shower in your microwave!

Oh man Nathan, I know exactly where your talking about! The small pasture right before G Grade road (just before hwy 59) was where I tended a small ammount of cattle and did all the fencing. I was so pissed when I kept going out and find the hmongs and other fishermen would cut my barbed wire and let the cattle out, Just so they didnt have to stretch the fence to get between it. Just after the salmon run is when it usualy happened. People were always tubbing down the merced river and park just outside the pasture. But man that water was always COLD! I even ran teh dredge tailings looking for any quarts/gold with my metal detector so I know exactly where your talking about.

Shoot next time I get to the san Joaquin valley i will have to stop by and say HI! I have made a few trips to Merced and Modesto tha past few years. If I go fishing out there the price for a out of state liscense would be HUGE. I thought the resident price was like 24.00 a year. I only pay 13.50. must be nice to have a low presure fishing area. Is the water run off from Yosemity?(sp?) That would sure be cold if it was.
-
Shoot that looks like a killer small mouth river for out here! That doesnt look like the kings river, where else do you have to fish? The Merced river used to be a good fishery but I dont know about it anymore.

Depends on the size. Stamina is 0.0552@1k - 0.0208 @1k and others have them from 0.019 @1k and up. buy in bulk it helps Other places give you a price break after 5k per order. have to shop around.

Yeah Chris it is. Kinda makes ya wonder why I love fishing so much huh? Darn have to go such a long way to wet the line. Never get a chance to go and that darn commute!! Woke up, looked outside, calm water and this sudden urge to grab the camera. Went to the Mississippi and rock river this weekend, didnt have luck on either one. Figure I will stay home. this next weekend.

You should have the same right as a hunter does while hunting. If a snow mobile, 4 wheeler or anyone in general interfeers with a liscensed hunter they should be arrested and charged. We had a small jet boat (made by wave runner) get run over by a fountain boat 2 miles up river from me just because they were jumping the wakes of larger crafts and ended up dead as the 4 props did a number on them. (And the darwin award goes too.....) The sad thing is the mother of the 3 late teens is suing the larger boat driver even though her son "that was driving" was going against 2 lanes of traffic, not giving common curtesy to other watercraft. and speeding. Sad to say the trauma to the larger boat's driver ended his 20 year enjoyment of boating due to a brainless act of another.

But what happens if your wife is also your fishing partner? Hell she even told me before your being a pain in my a$$, Get out of here and go fishing or somthing! I guess some of us have it worse than others....

Ok all. I was just contacted by a local sports writer for the local paper. He is a big time fisherman and hunter. Im currious if anyone has done theese write-ups. Im still a few weeks away from actual startup for the business. Im excited about this and at the same time worried teh pre mature exposure could hurt furure sales. Since most of you are doing this as income (in part or in whole) what sort of things would you include, cover or stress? I have loved doing this as a hobby and look forward to actualy getting money back from it, but I dont want to be blown out of the water at start up. Their are tons of fishing done here and money flows to the local fishing stores like I havent seen anywhere else in the country. Any words of wisdom will me greatly appriciated. Oh and RED, or FFT do you mind if I set a link to your page here to the TU by a banner or just a link in general? It could bring more people here from the central IL area as buyers possibly. Maybe have a links page for and from the members? Just a thought that crossed my mind. I havent seen one, and just a suggestion. Thanks to evreyone.
