wow that one is only 22inch lbs? I wonder if that is the gearbox inch lbs as well, Cause I can turn it on and hold it and it wont stop. its defiantly enough to turn plastic with. and thats with the paddles 1/2" inch from the edges of the prestone pot so they are about a 6" dia? I am guessing machinist post if its the same motor and gear box combo will work just fine. one other thing if your going over 50RPMS your going WAY TO FAST. remember a 1" dia shaft running at 50 rpms equals about 400 rpms in constant surface footage. for example turn a bicycle upside down spin the wheel look at the center. its slow now look at the tire its flying. Another Words DONT be spinning a 4"-6" dia mixer at more than 50 RPMS or you will be sorry Smallie thanks for looking that up I was too lazy.

now I can add the rest of the info on the paddles The paddles are made out of 1/8" thick( you dont need to be that thick, its all we had). 2" angle iron then cut to the height you want. it takes 4 piece of angle Iron. take each piece and a really heavy hammer and flatten them, the v that it leaves will add support and rigidity and it looks pretty cool so you can always said you intended them that way lol then weld the ends to a round rod use a collar to attach the rod to the motor shaft. before you weld the flattened angle iron pieces drill 1" or bigger dia holes 2 in each one altearnate them so the plastic moves better. I have one here that I made for a customer, that never picked it up. it works and its strong and if I remember right he said the motor was 15 or 20 bucks. he gave me the plate a pot and the motor, I made the paddles. I will try to get a pic up maybe this weekend. like vodkaman said make sure you have the mixer bolted down or your going to have a mess even if its a really slow RPM they will be a twist effect when material is in it the thicker the material the worse it is going to be. The motor is a dayton 4z146 motor ref number is zem6025-2 ther is also a gear drive below it. I am thinking its one unit with the first dayton number being that unit and the motor ref number being the motor number only. I hadn't had time to look it up but had this thin sitting here in front of me for 6 months

A hook hanger basically suppends the hook and weight over the plastic. you can get creative and use paper clips and small wire. in alum molds we cut the hook out in the mold so the hook and weight will set into a cavity usually by the hook eye and the bend to the tip of the hook. then when you pour your pastic the weaight and straight section of the hook is imbedded in the plastic. now you can do the same when making a pop mold or a silicon mold, of coarse this only works with 2 piece molds except in the case of a silicon mold cause the mold is bendable. I am guessing in your case you want the hook to come through the top and the eyelet to come out the nose both having no plastic on it. so hook hangers will not work unless the flatside of the bait is were you want the hook to come out ( underside). with the exception in a mold with out the properly cut hook pocket the hanger will hold the hook steady so it doesnt tilt to one side or another same with a silicon mold. an alum mold or even a pop mold there is no reson for hangers as the mold when closed will hold the hook perfectly. ( kinda like a do-it jig mold) If its on the Chub e mold we have or one like the Baby e, A hook pocket needs to be gooved into the mold. we alter these all the time for people taht don't like or want the treble hook on the bottom. some of our customers want it so they have the option of using the treble on the bottom or a single weighted hook on the top. its a very easy fix. the nice thing about the hook throug the top is that in heavy brush you wont get snagged as easy. or if you want to rest the bait on the bottom of the lake bed. A weighted shad hook will also work however when I fish the baby e style baits with a weighted shad head I don't swim them I work them like a jig, you might be surprized on the results. a 1 oz foot ball head is what I use with a 6/0 hook and even a 5/0 hook for a through the top of the bait hook I reccomend a 6-7/0 on the 5" bait and a 5-6/0 on the 4" bait. Just so you have hook penitration and clearance from the plastic itself for a hook set. Delw

Naw Jerry is just being careful, I told him how they got into mine. just hang for a bit he will have it up when he does his thing.

your right on the money but dont forget that motors with there rating are taking at a certain dia. if I remember corectly double the shaft size. so that might be like 1/2? I am not a motor guy not even close now take the paddles out to 5" your increasing the lbs per sq inch as you have more material to move. so if your paddles are 5" dia and 3-4" high you have alot more torque than if it was at a 1/2 dia.

We shut down the website for a few hours as we are updateing some more stuff. they hacked into my buddies hunting site and one of my fishing sites today through the gallery hack that we had in the forums. RED UPDATE your Gallery Software NOW and your forum software as well. if you need a hand email me The store is not an issue

30" lbs of torque is less than 3 foot lbs thans not very much at all. I would look for something a little heavier. In its liquid state it would be fine but after the plastic cooks I think it would be too small.

I took them off last week cause I didnt have time to make stock, they will go back on next week along with some others. Dang they were only online for a few hours too.

Jim your completely confused, mislead. or you just don't understand a public forum. The reason software companies come up with updates is for security issue. they are on the ball all the time. you can read all about security issues what they do and why the programs need to be updated on the vbulletin forum. you are immediately notified about any updates vie email, and on the forum in the admin section ( and you have no control to turn it off). So I would say they are defiantly on the ball. with not updating the software you leave a hole in it ( for the lack of a better word) with this hole and the right code and the right programs from a hacker that knows what he is doing he can access the sql data base. This is one main reason why you don't connect your forum with your store. Post Nuke was very bad for this. I have many databases. while they got into the forum one, they cant get into the store one or any other one. another reason never to use the same passwords for everything. for example my passwords for my server stuff are generated numbers letter and Caps. and I never use the passwords for forums and stuff. shopping carts that I shop from always have a different password and they are not even close to the same as I have for my server and database stuff. For example on forums Jerry and I have the option to make it so guys posting can use HTML codes insteav of text and BB codes like we use on this board. but using HTML codes leave you open to a ton of problems. so we leave them closed so the general public don't use them. years ago we ran UBB forums when they used a CGI file extension. we had HTML on and a guy came in and wrote a code in HTML that code regenerated itself crashing the server. Basically I opened to read it when I did I started a string of stuff that was never ending. Granted those were in the old days 10 years ago LOL but HTML code open to the public is a NO NO its even stressed by the companies who make these forums. the firewall your speaking of has more to do with PRIVATE servers, Networks and personal computers not PUBLIC sites ( like TU, mine or even your website) your hospital stuff, School districts banks etc. and other stuff is Private not PUBLIC there is a huge difference. as far as public forums you can set them up to block pretty much anything, Those are not the guys that need to be worried about( just goof ball spammers they are no threat). but if you don't update like you should on security issues people with the right knowledge and expertise and rip through it like a rat in a wet paper bag. PS if you don't condone hack why did you watch your buddies hack into the Itinerary. dude if they actually did you would have been so busted, I am betting with in 24 hours or less the house they did it on would have been raided via the FBI. in todays world with the problems with terrorism no threat is to small when it comes to hacking into a airlines system. more than likely they brought up a website that had this information and tried to look like nerds by saying they hacked into the airlines. Delw

Jim the hack shoppig cart software is a side program that runs on your shopping cart software. a modified version or a addon is called a hack. this isnt hackers its completely different. like for example TU it has many "hacks" in it. the term "Hack" is very misleading anymore and most of the time it has absolutly nothig to do with hackers. now about your "friends" why dont they just look on the websites to see flight times. why hack into a airlines system to get info thats readly avail. from websites or by a phone call? I think your friends are pulling your leg, as doing something in the US like that would be a vilolation of the homeland security act and they take that very seriously.

They didnt take the site down.... They just leftthere mark like most do. Delw

jim these guys(hackers) are pros, they know what they are doing. They know the system and how to get around it and through it. Also a host doesn't update shopping cart software and forum software nor the html page software that is up to the customer. they do update my dedicated server and my secured server with all the php and other stuff to do with the server.

proxy Ips are a dime a dozen and its very hard to do anything about it. My host don't mess aorund and I am sure it was taken care of. I used OS for 3 years and so have alot of my buddies they get hacked alot due to the the open source. but like any software if you don't keep it updated everytime a new security release comes out its open to hacking. they came through one of the security problems that I didnt update with VB combined with the gallery software. My host is on my butt all the time about me updating my software, I was just busy and lazy and I paid for it this time. its updated now that for sure. There is groups of hackers that do nothing but hack sites leaving there mark like they did mine. in a way its a good thing as it shows that you are open to hacking if you don't update. so after someone gets hack they usually keep on top of there updates. one thing that always kept me from updating the new stuff was the hacks I have in the software, the way vb is doing it now it doesnt take hours and hours to upgrade anymore. it took me 20 mins last night to upgrade and I had no problems with the add on hacks like in the past. when I did my 3rd site last night it took all but 5 mins, software updates come a long way in the last year and alot easier too.

just blows my mind people are that smart. I wish I was half as smart as some of these pc geeks. the support guys said it was just a index page hack from what they can see now. This does bring up an issue for guys running stores with out a secured server. LIKE OS COMERCE and other shopping carts. GET A SECURED SERVER or use paypal only and DONT take any CC cards unless you have a secured server.
-
I know about it. Its the forum software only VBulletin NOT THE STORE. The STORE is on a secured Server. so don't worry about the credit cards and personal info. my server guys are working on it now. Anyone with Vbulletin better upgrade these sites immediatly. Now I have to match whits with some 14 year old Hacker.... Thats going to be a tough one LOL.

we will soon, we are going through our whole store and trying to get it right with better detail, more info and better pictures. Delw

No its not impolite to ask. I can tell you that I don't pour sample baits. when I do a mold I pour a bunch and then when they are gone they are pretty much gone. Mainly cause I don't have time to work and pour. I know April has been pouring some samples when she gets time. the other problem with pouring sample baits I found is this. I pour out of what ever plastic I have for myself usually from the bottom of the barrel or from a damaged shipment.some of the plastic I have has been sitting around for a year + , I don't know if its hard soft or med. I might have something with salt or might not. the sample would only give you the bait itself no action color, no perfect pours etc. ( April does pour some pretty good stuff) Now if you can figure out how to get a 17 year old daughter to start thinking about working I could offer lots of samples LOL.
-
yes we have a mold for them, however you can only pour one color and the tails are more flat vs the unique rounded type. do they swim different? not really. its pretty much to each his own. whats nice about them is that you can get up to 10 cavities in each mold, make it for faster pouring. however you will need to paint them or accept your baits in one color. We have a bunch of new molds coming out in the first few weeks of Jan.

you can make a mold of one in a 2 piece mold that you can cut the skirt afterwords. the only problem is you have to cut the skirt and most people can't cut skirts right due to the tooling thats avail. Yamamoto glues the skirts on in the factory. they used to do all the skirts here in phoenix on the hula grubs and ikas. Ken that Image is a fat ika, we sell them there called Fatties. the black one is an org. fat ika and the bottom one is one that I made in the mold and glued the skirt one. you can see the org fat Ika( black one) has a double skirt cut in half then glued onto the bait.
-
for a skinnier one Get a stick bait and follow the instructions above
-
We make the molds for them, its a 2 piece mold. the skirt is attached via melting the skirt to the bait.( thats how yamamoto does it.) theres a few different ways of doing it: first you need to buy the skirts from yamamoto, they are double skirts take a razor blade and cut them in half. ( then you get 2 for one) Get a hot knife and hold it between the skirt and the bait, slide the knife out and press the 2 pieces together. you can do the same with a soldering iron and the knife blade attachment. the best way at least to me and the easiest. is to dip the skirts in hot plastic that your pouring your ikas with then press it against the bait.
