  1. DONT cut alum with a router, there are to many rpms and the spindles dont work very well for that type of cutting. The material will load up faster and will not only ruin your work or break the piece but hurt you very bad. get a dremel tool or an air type (14 bucks?) and use TOOL STEEL NOT Carbide. Carbide will give you lots of chatter (on these types of tools)and you might end up slipping off the bar and hurting yourself. MAke sure you coat the cutter with light oil. also a 8 flute or 12 flute SOmething more than 6 flutes will cut easier and better by hand . DONT USE A 4 FLUTE OR 2 FLuTE ENDMILL when cutting my hand with a dremel or air dremel. Keep oil on it constantlyy and go slow and you will be just fine. To use carbide you MUST have a ridgid spindle out you can get seriously hurt. CArbide isnt the Choise for most machinist cutting allum either tool steel cuts 10 time smoother and faster(because you can keep a load on it) they do have special coated carbide cutters with good shearing action but they are pricey and not worth the expence. 3. Thats funny this is brought up. I got an email and an order last year for 60+ xxl del-mart t-shirts and 40 child small t-shirts from indonisia. they even paid throug paypal, I figured it was a hoax so had paypal run a check on it, stolen credit card, then to top it off paypal billed me for the amount they get for the transaction. paypal fixed it about 2 months later. and I got no charges imagine the suprise when you get a paypal notification for $1900, then find out its t-shirts, shipping bill was like 500 bucks Delw
  4. I use lure craft colors and they have worked pretty good. I dont like the settling problem and the in consistancy problems( ie one time you add 25 drops the next time you add 40 drops) April was working with the chemist at calhoun and trying to find a way to make colors more consistant with out the settling problem. she's still working on it since she hasnt had much time as of lately though, so for now I am stuck useing lurecraft. m-f has some nice colors also. 5. Thats some scarey stuff. I usually set mine down on the burner of the stove(turned off) reason being my wife at one time was using a pyrex bowl for some cooking and set it down on the cold counter and kaboom it blew up when she turned her back. Delw

Nice meeting you last week at the lake pleasant wonbass tourny. you did real good, that lake is extreamly tough the last 2 weeks. todays tourny out of 122 boats only weighed in 27 limits 12lbs won it. In 2 weeks I am heading to Mojave for some practice for the next one. April and I will be at laughlin from the 24-29 for the tourny, we are staying at the colorado bell. We have been to laughlin since the small one was born 3 years ago. we used to go 1 time every 3 months. Oh yeah I blanked again today (like I did at wonbass) but I did however get 5 brand new tires for the trailer . I had 7 flats that week, I wish they would fix that road. Talk to ya later. Delw

    Pouring

I like the smaller lure craft pans. I fill them less than half full and can pour pretty fast and a pretty fine line. I used to use the lee pots but once I learned how to pour I stopped Delw

    Check this out

WOW Thats a nice reel. I still have mine from the early 70's 5000, 5500c 6500c 6000 they are in mint condition too. I used them for steelhead and salmon in the rivers. Don Iovio(sp) collects those reels also so you miught want to check with him as well. Delw
  11. I use the alum lurecraft pouring pans, then bend them to a small point. this will give me a fine line. Also when tryiong to pour small worms dont fill you pan more than half. I recomend 1/4 full at the most.(you can control the pour and flow better) Like all the above said practise practise. A few other things lean up against a bench and rest your pouring arm on the edge(this will help for beginers) it also helps keep your hand steady until you get the hang of it. Pouring out of a pyrex will be tough on worm molds for sticks it runs great. The wider the mold the easier to pour also. That mold while it seems hard is one of the easiest to pour, make sure you plastic is hot so it flows like a light oil also. Delw

    Hey my truck works

  13. This one was caught on a waky style with a texas rigger weight. We were bed fishing and was crossing the cut behind us(about 200 yards past my buddys boat in the picture) I figured what the heck and put a hot pink smooth stik on my brush hog rod. Flung it in about 20-30 feet of water and wham. My older daughter wanted to get a picture of it with my little daughter wearing her del-mart t-shirt, so we pulled up to shore so she could take the life jacket off for a pic. This was a stik I add'd no salt in so it would float, I use them for jerk baits and c rig them sometimes. Delw

Chirmy. My cell is 602-505-7499 ( I have bad hearing so I might dont hear it in the shop) the shop is 623-594-4923 The cell works on the water in most places. I was out today for a while, playing (since the post office and UPS was closed due to the holiday) I will be at the shop all day tomorrow and then fishing full days the rest of the week, and going to the shop at night. I am just bringing the boat to the shop everynight and sleeping in it, then leaving the shop to the lake in the am LOL . Wife wont like it but I am going to be beat by the end of the week. Delw
  15. Tristan Its not bubble gum that color doesnt work for me at all(i have no idea why) I used a variation of red adding enough drops to get the color I want, now the fleck will make all the difference in how the red comes out. Try mixing 5 drops of red in a cup of plastic and add different glitter colors, you will see that noe of the colors match with different glitter colors.

I have three done and they are sold, I am trying to get to the shop and take pics of them to post tonight with a price. Ive been swamped the last week so I am home answering emails and phones calls which I didnt over the last week. I am building more molds they just take a little while to get stocked up. the one I am building 4 1/2 inchs long .250 tube and a little over 1/2" in dia. for right now in between custom molds. this week is going to be a hecktic week, I am fishing WON Bass , CHirmy is fishing it also. the tourny is this coming weekend I will be at the lake everyday this week untill 1pm then to the shop till 12 midnight -2 am, Chirmy See you thurday Delw
  17. Becareful coving it with seranwrap. you will get moisture in it. and if the water droplets hit the plastic it will explode. More like violent bubbling, moisture is a bad thing to mix with plastic. One problem you could have is that when you are pouring a 2 piece mold your covering the whole inlet hole, this wont allow air to escape, try pouring on once side of the whole slowly. Delw
  18. Our server died for about 20 mins Sorry about that. then my ie on my pc died so I went and worked on my boat, I am fishing in the morning for the first time in like 4 weeks or something like that. very bad week this week...... Delw
  19. I have problems with color changing (on reheat)on these colors red and pink If I add any additives like, sents I will have color problems on purple Delw
  20. From what calhoun plastics told me . Heat stabilizer is not needed in calhoun plastic like you do in other plastics. Calhoun has about 15%( I believe thats the number) more heat stabilizer than other brands of Plastic, this is why it can be heated hotter. Delw
  21. Pit bass Calhoun makes a plastic that is just like 3'x siper floating, however its very expensive and its hard to work with. You have to have powdered colors(and not all work) You have to heat it very hot(sometimes it burns) You cant add any additives(unless they are made for it) You cant use the microwave to heat it. You cant remelt it and use it again. I have a gal here I been playing with and it will float as many hooks as you can put into it. If I ever get the process down for the people who hand pour we will offer it for sale. But until then its more of a pain to use than its worth for the average guy. Delw
  22. Fuzzer, before you take the calhoun plastic out of the bucket did you stir it very well? if not you will get the wet bugger feel. Dont shake it in the buck it, this doesnt mix it very well at all. When your heating it , you should get it to gell then it will get liquidy again. Also what are you adding to the plastic? how much softener / worm oil(some people do) heat stabilizer scents or other things, all these have an effect on the plastic in some way or another. I use it alot and dont have any problems, mine sets up really nice as well unless I add to much heat stabilizer/softener , thens its sticky depending on the amount. If your still having problems call me or shoot me your number and I will try to help you figure it out. Delw
  23. There are many versions of pink. Thats pretty much the only color I use for softplastics anymore. 1 cup plastic 6-10 drops red 1-3 drops white no flake 1 cup plastic 4-6 drops of red silver flake 1 cup plastic 4-6 drops red blue flake and red flake(.015x.015 size) I use them in everything from brush hogs to stiks and everything inbetween. I dropshot them split shot them , mojo rig them and put them on a lead head. placed in a few tournys with them also Delw
  24. YOu came to the right place for getting help on pouring worms. These guys know about everything. Lure craft has kits, and m-f manucturing has kits as well as bassproshops and a few others. Get a kit to make sure you like it first, then go out and buy the stuff to make what you want if you like it. No sence in spending money if you dont like it. and you can spend lots of money in this hobby. My website is below on my tag line . I have plastic / molds and a few other things coming soon also. Delw
  25. Theres a scale you can buy called a durameter(sp), however the time I needed one for machining plastics and rubbers its cost was over 12k. Granted it was for the areospace industries Something tells me I said the wrong scale now.... correct me if I am wrong. Delw
