I thought I would throw this out to you guys. the last 2-3 months I have been drop shotting flies and have been doing pretty good, has anyone else tried this? I saw a post by deadlystreamer and the avatar he has is a fly like I use for dropshotting so thats why I brouth this up. I am basically useing the same fly's I used for steelhead and salmon in washington. (streamers) in olive, red and yellow and some browns. you cant get any better action out of any bait than feathers and hair under water. Give it a try the next few times your out. Delw

I finally switched shopping carts to oscomerce they have came a long way in the last year from when I first set my interchange site up. It only took me a few days to figure out the software. The shipping and payment methods actually work and are preinstalled, not to mention they are accurate. any of you guys that need a shopping cart I'd advise you to look at oscomerce. now I just have to go and make the pages look a little different to generic for me lol. We all have problems shipping stuff. Ive done it. One thing to remember is calhoun is a big chemical company and only do the small orders due to request's. They have to pull someone off the line to fill the orders. On that note. I just recieved many barrels of calhoun plastic in today. Some of you know that we are working on being a distrib. of calhoun plastics. Over the weekend I will put the price's and ordering info up. We will be able to ship starting tuesday. paypal is accepted and we are working on getting a credit card company online soon. we will sell one quarts to 5gal jugs. as many or as few as you want. We will also have it packaged up ready for sameday(depending on what time its ordered) to nextday shipment. Delw

Seems yamamoto's lawyers are sending out certified letters to some of the guys that sell them on the internet. The way one of the letters is worded( it was read over the phone to me) you cant even say the word senko anywhere with out written permission. Ie you cant say " looks like senkos" " falls slower than a senko" "has more/less salt than a senko" etc. I dont see how this can be cause you see commercials where people compare coke to pepsi jack in the box to wendy's etc. Just thought I would let you know. There name is trademarked (senko is) this could be just a scare letter also, I dont know if it would hold up in court or not, maybe some of you guys that are smarter in the law field would know more. We melted that stuff all down and started from scratch. here one thats is better I think with green fleck it would make it. this one is Floresant yellow and pumpkin with black flake. all ready had the colors made and remelted together(daughters idea) I think if green fleck was used it would bring the greens out Its weird you can have one color but change the fleck and get different colors. I just downsized the pics so the screen wouldnt scroll Delw

berkley Camo is one of the hardest colors to make. (at least for me) Ive been playing a little, its close but no cigar yet 1 cup plastic 4 drops of moss green 3 drops of watermelon 2 drops oxblood now the key I found to give it the brownish effect was the brown Fleck and the gold fleck added into it. I only had .035 and it should be fine fleck Like I said close but not right yet Delw

I saw that later on fter I read it LOL Good job, I will see what other colors I can put on here. Delw

A while back ago I figured out a way to get more trafiic in here. Since Eric hadnt returned any emails and shut his site down I got the name tacklemaking.net about 2-3 months ago. Give me a link and I will make a single page on tacklemaking.net with tackleunderground.com . Kinda make something nice but flashy. I figure all it can do is help get some people in here. No I am not going to start my own board up I have 5 all ready LOL (hunting and fishing ones). I figure we can use it for a tacklemaking link kinda page, is supplies, your forum and stuff like that. email me when you get a chance also. del-mart@cox,net or delapril@cox.net ... I am heading to bed and will read it tomorrow Delw

Berkley blue fleck is 50 drops of black grape 75 of red This is for senkos with slt due to the salt is white and dilutes the colors.. I posted it on this board before but couldnt find it so the exact isnt posted cause my notes are in the garage. but this will give you an idea. These are lurecraft colors with out salt you need 10 drops of black grape and 15 drops of red. you will use more read than black grape You do use blue fleck aslo. On my baits I matched the blue fleck exactly to berkelys hope that helps Delw

Thought I would stop in and say Hi. Been kinda busy lately only fished twice since july 5th( I used to go a min of 3 times a week) ended up winning 500 bucks for big fish and 4th place, I was throwing one of my hand poured worms in the brightess red I could make and using it on a 3/16 oz jig head. Was pretty cool went out last night for a while to do some prefishing for a tourny tonight in which my partner had some things come up 10 mins before we were suppose to leave. Yesterday while prefishing we came onto a mountain lion drinking water at the lake. we got to within 20-30 feet of him, tried to get pics but they dont come out very well due to the night time and we used a spotliight. This lion weighed approx. 175lbs and it didnt care that we were there watching it. Ive talked to Chris via email a few times and hadnt emailed him back in a while(sorry chris) I will do that this week lots to talk about... I havent poured in about 3-5 weeks now except just enough for me to fish with that last 2 times. I did get 10 gals of calhoon plastic and a gal of that super stretch stuff from them I have been dieing to try out. The main tournament season will be coming up here in the next couple of months and the heat will hopefully die down. I got one sponsor(my buddies Boss) . I always thought I would like sponsors but it feels kinda wierd not paying for you own tourny's. I am going to try to fish pro either this season or at least the next season for sure, I will just have to see how the money holds out. B.A.S.S. tournys are expensive. I am useing the pro excuss so My wife will understand why I am going to be fishing all the time LOL ...she really dont mind shes a good lady.. We'll just thought I would stop by and say hi. I am sure I will have lots of questions on a few things once I start pouring tomorrow. Delw

I was building a tube mold. just stopped due to being busy with some other things... I had a hard time pouring it due to the plastic I was using m-f.. the last 3 months Ive had calhoon plastic and while pouring other worms and stiks Ive noticed I can get calhoon plastic very very runny.. so last week I tried to pour it in the mold I had previously made and it worked fine.... I willl try it again soon and if it works I will be putting the molds up for sale... Nice thing about pouring a tube in a mold rather than dipping one is the time and the amount of plastic you will not need... Delw

if you are on the west side... red is a kick butt color, of cource black is great as far as size if your running big worms .035x.035 dropshotting and finesse .008x.008 the micro fleck is some great stuff as well... Delw

The dye that I use is very very concentrated, I would say less is used. I get them in blocks so I cut chips out with a razor blade you can hve the see through color if you ad less, you can also add more so you cant see through it at all... I only use a candle dye when I have to(cause I am out of a color) whats nice about them is they are in blocks so there is no mess to spill. The thing I dont like about the candle dyes are they dont mix well when your plastic is very hot(you have to add it to the col plastic first and let it warm up (slowley)to mix) it leaves a little film on the pot and or measuring cup(microwave) when using it... The liquid candle dye works better and mix's a little better when the plastic is hot. To be honest colors are so cheap there is no reason to use other things unless its for emergency's(like when your going fishing and dont have that right color)... Delw

if they are waterbase they wont work... Try candle dyes they work great and they have some great premixed colors Delw
-
i get some glitters at craftsmart Delw
-
more than likely its water based.... be careful, water and worm plastic dont mix... Delw
