Pop, I use the vinyl lure and jig paint and I order the 4oz bottles from Stamina. Get a bottle of the thinner as well and thin the paint out a bit before you start. I actually use a spoon to paint them. It works best for me. Dip the spoon in the paint and let it run over the head then hang to dry.

Thanks, after you mix up the Devcon how do you apply it to the heads? Sorry for all the questions but I have never see this stuff before. I use vinyl paint.

Thanks, where do you get Devcon and Flex coat? Would a spray enamel clear coat work for a top coat or will it scratch as well?

Finally got to take some pictures of my blades. Time to get the shop cranking. Gonna try to get some more this weekend.

On a 3/8, my absolute favorite is a #4 Hildebrandt willow for the big blade and a #3 silver willow or colorado for the small blade. Same blade on the 1/2 because the Hildebrandt has so much vibration, but I will use a #3.5 for the smaller blade. As far as Colorados go I use a #5 gold on both the 3/8 and a 1/2. I retrieve the Colorado bait slow, hitting cover. The willow should be retrieved fast in clear water but can also be used very effectively in stained water with all different types of retrieves. Nothing but Sampo Ball Bearing swivels.

I also agree, no trailer hooks on a spinnerbait, if they want it, you got em. Never had any trouble (I think its cause we build our own they cant resist) I never use a trailer hook on a buzzbait either.

Great site, just found it through Tacklemaking.com. I make and sell high quality custom spinnerbaits. Been making them for about 8 years now and enjoy it very much, especially catching fish on them. I will post some pictures when my new batch is finished.
