  1. I really can't tell any difference. Switched when Baitjunky's quit carrying Calhoun's. Used around 25 gallons so far this year with no issues.
  2. MF's colorant is close
  3. I'm not really understanding your question. Is the plastic getting hard before your through injecting or is the injector binding up? If the plastic is getting hard inject the mold faster. Make sure your plastic is warm enough to inject. Also warm the injector and mold before starting.
  4. Is it about the same diameter as an old monster? I'm looking for a mold that is similar to the big dead ringer. The dead ringer has a wider tail than the old monster. Great bait to throw in the grass. Only problem with the Zoom is one fish and it's done.
  5. I shot over 8,000 baits this past year through the BJ mold and the only issues I had were self inflicted. All my customers love them.
  6. I have the Bait Junky 10.5 ribbon tail mold. Probably catch more fish on it in the summer than any other bait I throw.
  7. This post is use less without pictures! Let's see a few baits.
  8. I use Lure works GP 156. It is close to Zoom's. 20 drops a cup is a good starting point.
  9. I ordered a 10 oz injector from Bass Tackle Monday and it shipped Tuesday. Website said it would be two weeks before it shipped.
  10. The solvent based dries in a hurry and does not require being dipped in clear plastic. The water based takes a little while and needs dipped or it will come off.
  11. Well I have an inch of ice with four inches of sleet on top of it. Snow may miss us. Thank God the freezing rain went South of us. Most of those guys are without power. Forecast for tonight is five degrees with another round of freezing rain, sleet and snow again Wednesday. Not going above freezing until Saturday. I know you Northern guys are used to this. My wife is from New Hampshire, been up there in January and want make that mistake again.
  12. I fished Monday & Tuesday it was 70. Then it dropped 50 degrees. No worries me moving North.
  13. 28 degrees at 12:00pm. Six to eight inches of snow predicted for us by Monday with an additional two inches Monday night. Not supposed to get above freezing until late next week. Our county is 540 sq miles and no snow equipment. Good to be retired! On the bright side supposed to be in the 60's after this passes.
  14. If you figure how much you make an hour it's not much. Being retired I don't count my time. Keeps me off the couch and active. I draw a pension so it just helps pay for my fishing. My opinion it will take a pretty substantial investment to make a living. Lots of molds or injection machines to cut your time, buying supplies in bulk, etc to save every nickel possible and then your still not going to compete with the big boys.
  15. I do give a price break when they order 100.
  16. They do the same with crank a its as well.
  17. about fishermen. I sell custom soft plastics. No internet sells just locally. Why do these guys order 200 of the same bait, same color? You would think they'd buy four packs and come back for more. I'm not complaining but have noticed that bass fishermen do this. It's great for business.
  18. I dip the swim bait in clear plastic.
  19. I use plain old Createx paint on a lot of my swim baits. No issues with it as long as you let it dry before re-dipping the bait. Give it a try. Readily available, stored in an easy to use container and very little waste.
  20. I just use medium blend. As to brand you'll get a different answer from everyone.
  21. The one in my shop is not pink! Stole this one out of the kitchen for a picture
