  1. I have the molds to make them in 1/16-1/8-3/16-1/4 but I don't want to sell with them, but they do exist.
  2. Is there a pic available of what you guys are after? I think I just finished pouring about 50 jigs with what you are looking for...lol...
  3. OR.....you can just go to the local hardware store...get 3 or 4 finishing nails in various sizes..cut the points of and sand them flat smooth and have at it. I know this works because I did it again yesterday...lol..I guess you do learn a thing or two after 25+ years foolin' with melted molten metal and wire...
  4. I am waitng on a reply from CSI as we speak about this issue. I make a custom crappie jig that you shoot the body around and on the last batch I shot I am having a bad paint/plastic reaction. The body is taking on the color of the head and vice virsa..I am still waiting on the reason/excuse for the reaction between the two. I used CSI base coat/paint/seal coat, on a fresh poured jig head. To this date....I"M STILL WAITING....
  5. I believe I could make something very similar to that on a good day...lol. Good idea and concept...Good Fishin'..
  6. Are you referring to something like this? I have them in 1/16-1/8-3/16-1/4oz sizes but the molds are customs.
  7. I have bought a (TON) of stuff from him and all I have to say is *ALL A"S HERE*. He has stuff that you won't see hanging in wallyworld and tackle your buddies won't have...lol.. PLUS, he is now taking paypal and is a GREAT GUY to deal with too.
  8. Does anyone know the model number or have a mold for sale? Thanks in advance......
  9. Here is what these look like. Contact him for more info.
  10. Here's what they look like. He will have to answer the rest of your questions.
  11. I have a bunch of the larger size Y's I would part with since I never use them anymore...Just shoot me a PM...
  12. Cad, Since you have seen it, is it flat on the bottom like a snootie is? I am trying to come up with a head close to one that is not made anymore without going the custom mold route. Any help would be greatly appreciated....Good Fishin'....BTB
  13. The molds I am referring to is: SMJ-3-SF and the SMJ-3-MF models. It's a new weedless grass jig they just came out with.
  14. I have been thinking about picking up these molds to add to my collection, any pros or cons a guy should know about? Any help would be greatly appreciated...Good Fishin'....BTB
  15. I have the mold but don't recall the number.
  16. If I could see one of the heads (in hand) I maybe able to come up with something very close to it.
  17. I can make it unless it is a wierd weight or something then I probably could still make something (VERY) close....
  18. You could probably get a black nickel or a gold or even a stainless hook to work in that head style. The old school swivel used has a purpose, BLADE CHANGE....lol. It's alot easier than fooling with those tiny split rings...lol. You can use any standard swivel for that matter. There are alot of options...
  19. Yea,they use to sell it for doll hair. I dont know if they still do or not. As for the aspirin heads, I still use them on certain flys and the original fnf's were tied and still are tied on a aspirin head. They make a good fly but people got on the minno head and never looked back.
  20. BC, no they are not the same thing. Fishair is stiffer than craft hair and has a different texture. The place where I get all my craft hair from is punisherlures.com. He has several different colors and the prices are good for what you get. But the shipping is a little steep if you just order one or two colors, but if you get several colors at a time it's not to bad..
  21. I pour mine in the heads. I have tried the glue and it seems to make things to stiff for me. I have made weedguards from the Y's/fiber/cable/single strand wire/large mono/and on and on. But alot of guys seem to like the Y's.....but that's my
  22. I have a custom mold for this size head since I sell the heads and use it to tie jigs for crappie and bream. That is the only reason a person would shale the kale for a mold like this. It took forever to find one of these molds that would work like I wanted. After years of searching I finally found one. So good luck on your journey, it maybe a long one....
  23. I make the ones with the little Y guards all the time. I make them with several different weed guard systems actually. Alot of guys like the one with the Y guards but I will stick with the fiber for my own personal use.
  24. Those are some nice smallies...You should be proud of your efforts when it comes to tying....There is nothing like catching a big smallie on a fly you made yourself. I can tell by the snow that the water is probably a little cool too...lol. Mac mentioned the pic with the jig in it's mouth, that's a good idea and here is another for you to try. Try taking one when they leave the water on one of their spectacular jumps. It took us forever to get one that you could see with the smallie airbourne and you can see the float against the sky plain as day. Needless to say it takes two to make this happen...lol. Unless you are a Octopus....lol.
