  1. Good morning, all Any idea who manufactures the nylon fiber matl that weedguards are made from? I would think it comes in long strands....and you would cut and fuse it. Any thoughts? Regards jigmaster www.daimonlures.com
  2. Merry Christmas! We can certainly help you out! Let us know details of what you need! Check our site: www.daimonlures.com I can send you some pictures if you are interested! Regards jigmaster
  3. I would think that it would work. I do not have the mold, but looking at it tells me that it probably would do the job. Not sure why do-it would not produce a tapered tube mold up to 3/4 oz.....seems like there is a market for tapered heads that heavy. I do have the egg mold that was mentioned earlier........that would do the trick, too. It is more elliptical than the popeye appears to be........not sure how that would affect the fall of the tube. Crasher is dead on..........if you are trying to use a hook that is not recommended for that mold, they dont always close tightly. Try squeezing the handle TIGHTLY when pouring, or better yet, get the dremel out and start modifying the cavity. let us know how you do.
  5. We can pour anything you need..... check out our site, and shoot me an email with details, and we will see what we can do! www.daimonlures.com Regards
  6. I use powder regularly for s-baits and buzzer bodies. Get a deep container......preferably with a wide mouth, too. Fill it with powder paint, and heat your s-bait/buzzers, and dip them into the paint. Paint will get on the hook, but as long as the hook is not hot enough to activate the paint, you can wipe it right off. Keep that paint fluffy.........ya gotta stir/shake it REGULARY!!!!!!!! Regards www.daimonlures.com
  7. Was maybe February or March....2005 Even at that, the price per pound is gonna be high for awhile....until the pipeline is full. If a guy had the knowledge, and the capital.......would be a good market to service. There goes the capitalist in me.........lol Regards www.daimonlures.com
  8. Likely it is shot..... Corn starch works well to store your skirts......so does talcum powder....baby powder. Comes out smelling fresh!
  9. ha typo fingers are not responding to brain signals, apparently
  10. Haebar Try Captain Hooks....they have better prices than the barlows and staminas of the world, and a fairle decent selection of the stand-bys that you would use for jigmaking. www.ccaptainhookswarehouse.com Regards

  12. Anybody ever try this blade dip stuff......does it work ok? How long does it last in the water...is it durable?
  13. Not sure there would be any difference from heat sources. I do know that you can overheat lead.....when it starts to take on a reddish hue......then it is too hot. That is also when it starts to get dangerous to inhale, as it gives off toxins in the fumes. I typically pour at about 750 deg. seems to be the best temp range. The shot may be contributing to the variation in some way...my guess is that it is indeed part of the equation.
  14. Kayser Lure, Ursa, ILL. 217-964-2110 You gotta be a federal ID'd mfgr....... (I think) Otherwise, try Barlows/Stamina/Janns Regards www.daimonlures.com
  15. A cheap source for the above? Thanks in advance
  16. Good morning Snootie works pretty well for swimming jig applications.......yes, you can substitute gammie hooks, too. Regards www.daimonlures.com
  17. Mr. Craw Let us know what you are interested in. I am sure we can help you out! Regards jig www.daimonlures.com
  18. If you get desperate, check E-bay. There is a guy there that sells pure ingots, for roughly a buck a pound, incl. shipping. It is good lead......I have bought from him before. Probably could get it cheaper if you can find it, but any port in a storm........
  19. Hey, all Listed the last of my LR stash on E-bay yesterday. Didn't think to come here first.............doh... Listed some black, white, yellow, blue and green in 3 different auctions. That is all I have left. Check it out........do a search for living rubber on e-bay main page. Regards jig www.daimonlures.com
  20. Have bought THOUSANDS of hooks from Shorty's.......they are an excellent supplier for me. Minimum order qtys of 1000, means that they do not repackage.......they are merely a distributor. Harry Simmons has forgotten more about hooks than I will ever know.
  21. An interesting looking buzzer..........lol I can help you part of the way.........I pour alot of buzzer forms, and can paint them pink. I also have pink skirting....do some pink jigs for a customer now and again........although they are actually cotton candy.....pink with black and green flake. Not sure you can buy pink blades.......would have to paint them manually. How many are you interested in? www.daimonlures.com
  22. CJ I paint them all the time with the guards in them. Cover the weedguard with HEAVY DUTY tin-foil (shiny side out) , and then heat them with a torch or a cig lighter...dip in paint, and then allow to cool. Keep the foil on them, and bake them in your normal manner (I use a toaster oven)....bake at 275 for 20 minutes... Should do the job. The weedguards in that FB mold are thinner (less strands), so they will not tolerate too much excessive heat. Little margin for error. I have a pile of them that I screwed up to attest to that fact. Let us know how you do. jig www.daimonlures.com
  23. yes, no problem.............just make sure it is hot enough to hold the paint. Experiment
  24. spelled my own addy wrong!!!! www.daimonlures.com Thanks
  25. Good morning We can pour heads for you, also. Mustad Ultra-point hooks, stainless wires, bullet nose style. Can certainly powder paint them for you too. www.caimonlures.com
