  3. Scuff the lacquer lightly. It will remove the sheen and give the epoxy a profile to get hold of. Coley
  4. Are you saying you want one of us to put you up for a month. FL is Apr 22, TN is May 20. : Don't believe my wife will go for that.

    "Home of Foam"

Right now I use wood for my model on all round baits. I do my mold making by using 2 halves to my model, rather than trying to find a center on a one piece model. It's really very simple. I have learned how to attach 2 pieces of wood together on the ends, and turn them, when separated, I have 2 halves for a model exactly the same. As far as using rigid PVC foam boad for a model, I use 2 pieces of equal thickness and spot glue them together. I then cut out my model, sand and shape it the way I want it, separate it and I have an exact center for making my mold. In both cases I take a piece of aluminum tape and put it on a piece of very smooth hardwood, that is about 1/4" thick. I put one half of my model on the tape using screws from the bottom side. I then build a box around the model. When this half of the mold is made, I glue the model back together, clean up the seam, and pour the second half of the mold against the first. Lincoya, gave me one piece of the foam board and I made a couple of baits out of it. The local sign company here gave me a few scrap pieces, I use for models for molding. The sign company uses it because they can drill and tap it. And comes in many differen't colors. It will hold a eyescrew without any pull out. Lincoya and I tested it. They also use Lexan and have some scrap pieces of that.

    "Home of Foam"

For some models, I use a material called, rigid PVC foam board. Resin will not hardly stick to it and it can be cut, drilled, sanded and painted. I have made a couple of baits from the stuff.
  8. Four new ones from fiberglass mold.
  9. Do a search for Spaz Chrome paint, good price on this. Coley

Are those the ones with the photo finish?? Post a pic, if you have one. Coley
  12. Yes, you can use your Sears compressor. Get a pressure regulator ( which you need with any comp) and a water trap. Check Harbor Freight for the Paasche VL. I started with and I am still using it. It has served me well. Cost will be around $60. Coley
  13. Excellent work. Your hooked, your life will never be the same. Coley

    Absolutely beautiful!! Coley
  16. It won't do much good to use fusion unless you sand the bait down to the plastic. Regular krylon white primer will work just as well over the sanded paint. Coley
  17. Go to the how to section and read Huskies tutorial on bondo molds and foam baits. And yes, foam is same density from end to end, as far as I can tell. Coley
  18. Well, you might check this out. It came from another site. http://www.caswellplating.com/kits/plugnplate.htm Coley

  21. Really looks great, Dwain!!! Coley
  22. Fantastic, there is just not a word to describe them!!!!!!! Coley
  23. I agree with you Jerry, on the vent hole. But, be careful with none. I made a mold so tight I couldn't he the foam to go into part of it until I drilled a 1/32" hole in from each side to let the air out. I us a 3/32" vent on the highest part of the bait I am moulding. Coley
  24. I use what Husky recommended, a 50-50 mix of vasoline and mineral spirits. Then sprinkle on some talc. I use baby powder for this. Coley
  25. Excellent job for first. You have the talent necessary to make great baits!! Coley
