  1. Hey guys, Does anyone know where to get Mercury outboard decals at? I'm looking for a new decal for my Mercury 115....and as always, the cheaper the better! Thanks
  2. Thats the one! The top pic...so that's a Bob's Bamboo stick?
  3. Yeah, I have a del mold too...happy with it! I saw a pic of what I thought was a stick bait from Bob's that looked almost like a cross between a fluke and a senko/stick....it wasn't a uniform thickness throughout the length of the bait...just wondering where the mold was from cuz I don't see it on Bob's site.
  4. Is Bob's 4 inch or 5 inch stick a little fatter in the middle than the Del 4 & 5 inchers? Thought I saw a pic of one of Bob's in here not long ago and it being "plumper" than the Del Stik.
  5. Thanks for all the replys! I haven't been in the "shop" since I posted this, but will give some of the suggestions a shot. I kinda figured it has something to do with letting the plastic stream down one side of the mold when pouring....will try to keep it in the middle! As for the "dents" in baits...that doesn't happen often, but when it does..I've noticed that my mold is heated up to the point where it's hot to the touch...that probably has something to do with it.
  6. No..I'm using Del's combo stik mold. I'd say 50% of the time they come out fine...but the other 50%, if I roll the bait on a flat surface, one side has a bunch of glitter...and then if I roll it a little more..there's like none on some of them. The plastic is almost the consistancy of water (if that's possible) when I pour..very hot, and I stir after every 2 cavities. I get the "dents" too...but I think it's from the mold being too hot.
  7. I've been having a problem with my glitter ending up mostly on one side of my stick baits (Del mold). I pour with the mold upright and never set on either side until I take it apart to remove the bait. Any suggestions?
  8. Ok, I've been tinkering with my Del mold and supplies from the Kit I order not too long ago(which is a great deal!...thanks Del!)....and I am looking to get some more plastic and glitter colors. I already have Black, Light Watermelon and Red colorant....and Black, Blue and Red Glitter. What colors would you guys recommend be included in my next purchase...in both glitter and plastic colorant. Just looking for popular/basic colors...about 3 or 4 more of each. (Pearl White will be one..no doubt) Thanks in advance!
  9. Which Pro-Cure product....the butter one? Also, do you guys add your scent pre-microwave or after?
  10. Man, that chompers scent it strong!...I'm looking for something more subtle..I'm not looking to cause someone to pass out when they open a bag! I'm assuming anything oil-based won't do really well mixed in with hot plastic...am I wrong?
  11. Hey guys, I'm looking for a good scent company/product....can anyone recommend one? I'm looking for craw, shad, garlic and possibly anise.
  12. Bob's Bamboo stick...gotcha. Ok, I went on Bobs site and don't see the Bamboo sticks listed under molds. Where did you get the mold?
  13. Hey guys, A week or two ago, I was nosing around in here and saw a picture of a bait that was like a cross between a senko and a fluke. I believe the mold was made by Bob's Tackle Shack? Does anyone remember or know what I'm talking about?
  14. Thanks guys. I'm trying to keep the color/glitter as consistant as possible...your advice should help. Also, I'm getting an excessive amount of glitter settling at the bottom of the Pyrex even though I'm stirring. What are you using to stir with?
  15. Hey guys, I was just pouring some smoke/blue flake stik baits w/my Del mold. First pour was perfect...great smoke shade that I was looking for and everything. However, re-heated the plastic after I added some "excess" that was trimmed from my first pour and it came out with a greenish tint to what was supposed to be my perfect smoke coloring. What did I do wrong? Did I over cook-the plastic..or melt the glitter or what?.... ..thanks in advance!
  16. I'm kinda shocked that no one really uses the Lee Plastic Pots. I am new to pouring also and was thinkin of investing in a Lee pot. Why don't you guys use these pots?
  17. Been to the Cabela's in Dundee.....an awesome store! However, I'm a little bias towards BPS....the fishing selection is better than Cabelas....and the fish tank is a huge plus. But Cabelas does have everything under the sun...literally! ..you have to be careful in both stores!
  18. Awesome! Thanks to everyone for their input. As previously stated, I was sold on a 4 stroker...but with the "savings" that were offered on the Optimax, I figured I needed a little input before taking the plunge! Just like everything in life..it sounds like you'll end up paying for it somewhere down the line (get it?, down the line?!?! ) We are definately thinking longer term with the boat and aren't planning on doing alot of balls out, throttle down running. We're going with the 4 stroke so that it lasts longer! Thanks....and any other comments are certainly welcomed!
  19. Thanks Ken. I checked out their website...it's good and informative, but you really have to be a gear head to actually understand what they say. There isn't a spot where they compare the 4 Stroke to the Optimax....which is pretty much what I'm looking for. Tracker has an incentive call "Power Up Savings" that allows you to upgrade your Merc for a discounted price. The Optimax happens to be $2500 cheaper than the 4 stroke. Until I saw the price difference, I was sold on the 4 stroke....but now, I'm just looking into Optimax cuz from what I read and hear....the only difference is 2 to 4 stroke...same response/emissions/quietness etc...unless someone knows different...?..?..??
  20. Thanks guys. I test drove a 115 Yamaha 4 stroke and literally fell in love w/4 strokes after that. We are looking at Tracker boats and the difference money-wise between the Merc 115 Opt and 4 stroke is like $2500 more for the 4 stroke. So basically if the Optimax performs anything like a 4 stroke (which I think it does...minus the oil mixing)...I'm all about it.
  21. Hey guys I am shopping for a new boat for next year and really don't know what the difference between the Mercury Four Stroke EFI and the Optimax is. Could anyone shed some light on this? Also, Optimax has a fantastic reputation...anyone care to comment on there own personal experience w/Optimax??? Thanks!
  22. Thanks Mallard....I'll try the tounge spray as well!
  23. Thanks for the reply! Our problem is when we aren't around. When we're home, he's great. Never even tries to do something he knows isn't allowed...but when we're gone, the temptation is there and he's unsupervised...so he figures I'll never find out.....until my sump pump doesn't work of course! I know this behavior won't last past his "puppy stage", but I'm looking for something I can put on stuff I don't want him to chew up...as a sort of back up plan in case he gives in to the temptation. The spray I've been using successfully contains cayenne pepper...so I was thinking of making something using it....
