  1. Latrobe I finished those today. Got the pictorial etc done and be up later. Micro is a whole new ball game. Had to make all new fixtures for the cnc machines.
  2. 1/2 oz versions will be swimming shortly.... I'll try for some video.
  3. wait a minute here your telling me you can make money building fishing lures? LOL I'm going about it all wrong
  4. yes it can add quite a bit but depends on how this the finish is. Generally the thicker the finish the less action of the lure.
  5. google gold leaf sizing. Used extensively in the sign industry. Basically a contact adhesive.
  6. Just google hot foil stamping. That roll in the picture is nothing but a roll of hot foil stamping foil. Readily available even on ebay for cheap. Good luck getting clear to stick to it enough to use it for fishing lures.
  7. Bear gets my vote too. I sent samples to a bunch of people and the only one who followed through and got the molds done was him. The quality is fantastic and the price is great.
  8. ALL SET I got them now thanks
  9. Got it and all set. Bears did it for me after getting tired of waiting for other people to do something.
  10. Any plumbing supply store will have it.
  11. hard but porous. Good luck turning it cuz based on that article it sounds like you'll be sharpening constantly.
  12. Let it sit covered outside for 2-3 months then a month for every inch thickness. Then bring inside and acclimate to your shop for a month or so, cut and there's some nice lure wood. You want less than 10% moisture. What you have there fresh cut is probably 60% and needs to be dried.
  13. Minwax WH is nasty stuff. You want to be very careful working around this stuff. Full gloves, etc. It's easily absorbed through your skin and like epoxy you can become sensitized to it. Read the MSDS it will tell you precautions
  14. no I've looked there too. They go up to 3" I believe.
  15. I've looked all over the place and not found anything so figured I'd ask here. Looking for a mold(s) for a 8" saltwater curly tail grub. Anyone know where I can get one or anyone have one they want to sell?
  16. It is well known that putting solvent based anything over a water base will cause the water base to wrinkle as you say. I'm not 100% positive but I'm pretty sure that even with heatsetting it won't completely cure the problem. There's a bunch of issues to take into consideration, I'm not a paint consultant but I've worked with one enough to learn this.
  17. I tested the stuff extensively. It doesn't work for sealing like he advertises it for. And after seeing that he's still advertising it and selling it for lures he's about to get his first negative feedback from me too. I got a refund but only after I hounded him for it. Not only did the stuff alligator on multiple coats, it doesn't harden like he says and it definitely doesn't seal any kind of wood I tried it on. I did some pretty scientific tests with it on 5 lures and it was a total waste of time, single and multiple dips, every one sucked in water and gained weight. Two coats on a painted lure and the stuff looked like crap. snake oil for sure. They can't even spell polyurethane on the darn label right.
  18. 5 minute WILL always yellow very quickly, usually within 6 months 30 minute still may but no-where near as quick.
