  1. Anyone can make a chrome lure. NOW show me a clear coat over it. THEN I'll believe you got something there...
  2. CA beats it hands down. I've switched almost 100% to thick CA with a flash accelerator. I could have predicted the ruined screws. I've done this with .062 wire already.
  3. I've said this for years and shook my head every time I see threads like this. WOE be to the guy that has an accident at his house and the insurance company disavows your policy coverage due to an illegal "spray booth" in a homeowner setting.
  4. Prime white or black for different effects. Then a foundation of bismuth oxychloride in clear medium... Then spray different colors of eyeliner over it.
  5. LADIES MAKEUP And yes I'm totally serious.
  6. just prime and paint them. They're beat up used lures that who cares if they look good will still catch fish. They're not ferraris. FISH DON'T CARE. They have a brain smaller than a pea.
  7. yea they're still there.
  8. Sure come pick it up Saturday $50k LOL Those were bar tap handles for a local brewery that got into making honey based mead. It's in alot of bars around Boston.
  9. GIANT ASH HONEY DIPPERS are much more fun. I made several hundred of these for bars around Boston.
  10. Wait a minute...you can make lures on a LATHE???? LOL
  11. I'd embrace that pink...it will make them fish better. Looks like the color of bunker after it's sat out in the sun for a bit..
  12. What does "can't get them to go" mean? Can't get the mold to fill? Have the molds been vented? What temperature you pouring at? Have you tried reversing direction?
  13. knipex rod cutters. They now make a set with slanted jaws also. They are expensive however. $50 range. Last you a lifetime though. They will cut up to 1/8" stainless easily, and allow you to get in tight. crawfordtool has them.
  14. Well I see your problem you need to stop spooning with your lead Sorry I couldn't resist. That looks like calcium contamination.
  15. Put all your competition out of business with low prices and good service. Then when someone looks for something you make Google has to put you at #1 cuz there isn't anyone else in the world
  16. You talking to me? Whats a code LOL
  17. Chocolate N Cherries Merry Xmas Bob. For any of you thinking of getting into cnc you have a big hill to climb. It's alot of learning. You haven't lived until you've seen a $200 cutter bit go screaming out of control. CNC is a fine line between having fun and SHEER TERROR LOL
  18. I just read this whole thread. I have one question. What's a cnc?
  19. My pig lead squeaks when melted and has a curly tail Sorry I couldn't resist. A pig of lead is a unit of measure.
  20. Fluoro "paints" aren't paints...they are aniline dyes. And yes needs to be coated with uv protector clear.
  21. schlappen would be too big. Strung chicken feathers/hackle is what you want. You can buy small qty at any orvis store, you want minimum 6-7" as they will be the most supple. You don't use the quill on the bottom. Bend the feathers and you'll see why. If you need larger qty call Chichester or Swalef or Zucker. You can buy them by the pound but a pound nowadays is close to legalized rape. All the costume outfits for women to thank for this. They've driven the cost of feathers thru the roof.
  22. Know what else works good is HOUSE PAINT. Many famous wood lure builders on the cape years back used Benjamin Moore Exterior White to dip their lures in. Who knows how many cracked but the stuff sold for cheep $$$ back then. I have original catalogs from the 50's that lures sold for 2-$3. It's what you want to put into it. Tons of stuff works on the cheap. Long live Rustoleum oil base. Use sign paint. Couple dips of white will seal your lure then paint away. Best stuff out there bar none is acrylic lacquer. I had a great source for it until they phooked me over on something I developed. Going to be gone soon. That always take away the good stuff. They not that.
  23. Better read again. Salty doesn't recommend shellac for a finish. It does however work for sealing a fishing lure before you prime it. And I dislike even saying stuff like this because people take it as gospel. Will say again what it says on the webpage. What works for one doesn't always for someone else. It's up to you to test it and find what works for you.
