  1. I checked a few google searches on Chroming. Sounds like a pigment you could add to color tech plastisol paints...maybe Kim at Lurecraft already has access to it ?? Here,s a link to a video I found
  2. I've seen Mark's baits in action. It was only a matter of time before someone scored big in a tourny with his lures. Congrats Mark, I know how hard you work on those babies
  3. Sorry, posted too early in the am I guess. $300. is my asking price. Thanks, Mike
  4. I have a 3 year old Rite Hete 12 quart dipping pot for sale. It measures 10" across and 9.5" deep. Paid $ 600. new, still works like the day I got. Selling because we need to buy a larger model.
  5. And Joe....if your making it....so am I ...just for me
  6. This will happen to any adhesive eye stuck on plastisol. The adhesive reacts with the plastisol and gels. A fix is to first apply some of LC's color tech clear base, this acts as a barrier. Let it dry and then put the eye on. This will work better, but you really need to coat the eye with the clear paint after its stuck on so it will stay in place longer. Flat eyes which are thin and flexible will stay on better than 3D eyes.
  7. Joe, these guys are bang on. Sweet Potato and Root Beer for sure.
  8. That's pretty cool, a small business takes the plunge...wait till your man wins one and mentions your baits on stage and in print....I see overtime hours

Sorry Dave, I think I've answered your question. How's the hand pouring going ??

Sorry, I ment the 2 colour laminated variety. Usually they are mass produced and they wait too long in between dips. These are dipped vertically and the last layer is horizontal only on one half of the tube. For air brushing , you need to use the color tech paints from Lurecraft. This is a special flexible paint formulated to adhere to plastisol. You can do some neat tricks with it....sprinkle a fine glitter on one half and spray on a light layer of clear coat or add a hi lite or pearl powder to the clear coat for some cool effects.
  11. Now there's an idea...give me some time, we are still testing. I'll post a picture when it's done.

Actually, most tubes are vertically dipped and then the last layer is horizontally dipped. You need a specially bent dipper to do these tubes. I used to make them and then found I had more artistic freedom airbrushing them. The paint adheres far better then the plastic (most laminates can be peeled off )

We vertically dip them, it's much easier for me anyways. I would think horizontally dipping takes a bit more practice.
  14. 30 psi is a lot for plastic, especially when it's not computer controlled. It takes very little pressure, perhaps 8-10 psi to push hot plastic.
  15. Just thought I'd see if anyone else has tried to break the 10" barrier with a dipped swimbait yet ? I have to have my 5 G pot completely filled to make these little devils. I included our 5.5" regular swimbait for size comparison.
  16. A first attempt at a larger version of our 5.5" (shown for size comparision) Should work well for toothy critters up north

Thanks Joe, I know what you mean about trying new hobbies....this one is very addictive. I'm now working on a 9 1/2 " hollow body dipped swimbait for musky, pike and the occasional cali bass.

Nice job Joe, I thought you just used sweet beavers
  19. I've found that Black Nickel hooks do not grab lead as well as the salt water zinc coated hooks. I'm experimenting with a large 8/0 black nickel hook and I find they do get loose if you don't let them sit and cool. Is there any additives that can be added to lead for a more firm bond ?
  20. I have five 7" stick molds left. The rest are sold. Thanks, Mike

  23. I have 8 7.25" Del-Mart stik molds and 2 5.5" Flappin Shad molds. The Stiks are 85. each (new cost 168.) and the Shads are 75.00 each (new was 150). Shipping will depending on your location. Both are hand pour molds. The Stik pours very fast, the Shad is average and needs the plastic a little hotter to fill the cavites.
