  1. I found that a fan cools my product too quickly. So I just open the garage door and don’t get directly over the hot plastisol.
  2. I wouldn’t. Hot plastisol and water don’t plat well with each other.
  3. It may be shrinkage. Try injecting slower and keep some pressure for a few seconds. Then over fill the cavity.
  4. My mixes end up some shade of brown. Depending on the shade of gray you might get a smoke by adding some white.
  5. It probably isn’t the best thing going, however, I have been successfully using powder paint from Harbor Freight for several years. I have 3 or 4 colors of it. I also use Pro-Tech and powder paint from Cadman. I use a fluid bed.
  6. Thank you Curt. I knew you had a magic wand.
  7. There is only one way to know for sure. Make up a few and give them a try.
  8. When I had a Lee pot I would get the lead hot then empty it. I cleaned it out then took steel wool and cleaned it as much as possible. Then I sprayed it with a good layer of WD40. I let is soak for a while then wiped it down, fired it back up, put lead in it and started over.
  9. The only way I know is to keep it full of lead.
  10. I cut a piece of aluminum flashing and epoxied it in. I heat both colors in separate containers, pour them into the divided cup .
  11. Mixing brands works fine. Just don’t put power baits and elaz tech baits in. Remember that mixing colors up may result in various shades of brown.
  12. I talked to Jackie at Shorty’s. She confirmed the L3052 hook so I have 4/0 and 5/0 on the way. Thanks Ted.
  13. Thanks but I want to buy from Shorty's 1000 ct.
  14. I have been using this hook for tubes for several years and am running low. I can't find that number any longer at Shorty's. Can someone give me the new number or a good cross over hook brand and number. Thanks in advance.
  15. A little solder on the inside of the tip of a Colorado blade can make a thump.
  16. Is bismuth harder than lead? When I looked it up it showed a lower melting point. Maybe cadman or smalljaw can tell us.
  17. I was given 70# of printers lead. I use it straight for harder lead or mix plumbers lead for a softer result. I have never used tin.
  18. I sealed some for a friend with Bondo fiberglass resin.
  19. I never could get the bright colors with it. Maybe I was doing something wrong.
  20. I buy mine at Cabela's
  21. I use coated Sevelon or Surflon 90#.
  22. Use less glue and the residue will not be there.
  23. I’ve never seen one for the whole bait. I just use a hot knife from Harbor Freight to weld the pieces together.
  24. I bought 50 from cadman several years ago. I leave mine in the jigs while painting and baking. It is easy to get the paint off them.
