  1. Thank you Curt. I knew you had a magic wand.
  2. There is only one way to know for sure. Make up a few and give them a try.
  3. When I had a Lee pot I would get the lead hot then empty it. I cleaned it out then took steel wool and cleaned it as much as possible. Then I sprayed it with a good layer of WD40. I let is soak for a while then wiped it down, fired it back up, put lead in it and started over.
  4. The only way I know is to keep it full of lead.
  5. I cut a piece of aluminum flashing and epoxied it in. I heat both colors in separate containers, pour them into the divided cup .
  6. Mixing brands works fine. Just don’t put power baits and elaz tech baits in. Remember that mixing colors up may result in various shades of brown.
  7. I talked to Jackie at Shorty’s. She confirmed the L3052 hook so I have 4/0 and 5/0 on the way. Thanks Ted.
  8. Thanks but I want to buy from Shorty's 1000 ct.
  9. I have been using this hook for tubes for several years and am running low. I can't find that number any longer at Shorty's. Can someone give me the new number or a good cross over hook brand and number. Thanks in advance.
  10. A little solder on the inside of the tip of a Colorado blade can make a thump.
  11. Is bismuth harder than lead? When I looked it up it showed a lower melting point. Maybe cadman or smalljaw can tell us.
  12. I was given 70# of printers lead. I use it straight for harder lead or mix plumbers lead for a softer result. I have never used tin.
  13. I sealed some for a friend with Bondo fiberglass resin.
  14. I never could get the bright colors with it. Maybe I was doing something wrong.
  15. I buy mine at Cabela's
  16. I use coated Sevelon or Surflon 90#.
  17. Use less glue and the residue will not be there.
  18. I’ve never seen one for the whole bait. I just use a hot knife from Harbor Freight to weld the pieces together.
  19. I bought 50 from cadman several years ago. I leave mine in the jigs while painting and baking. It is easy to get the paint off them.
  20. I’d use some other kind of paint for the ones on hand, then switch the process.
  21. You can use a fiberglass resin like Bondo but be sure to cover the mold well with oil. I use it a lot in my silicone Arig mold.
  22. I just lay mine on the work bench pointing out away from me.
  23. Sometimes I lay the hook as close as I can then use a tooth pick to finish getting it into position.
  24. I would warm the mold, take a cotton swab and cooking oil and lube the tails, inject holding some pressure for a bit and see how it goes before I did any mold modifications. That is how I get my baby brush hog and twin tail grub molds to shoot.
