  1. I’m not familiar with that but I looked it up and it looks like green pumpkin with black, purple and green flake. You might find it listed above in the soft plastics cook book.
  2. I put a coat of super glue on the wire where the spacer fits, then slide the spacer over the glue and crimp.
  3. I sent you 2 reels this morning.  They are supposed to arrive by Tuesday.

      Dayne,

I will let you know when I get them.

      Thank You.....................Ted

  4. X2 on the JB Weld. I was drilling out some cavities in one of my molds and got one too deep. I fixed it with JB. It has held for close to 20 years and untold pours.
  5. Just keep in mind that most if not all heat stabilizers are not clear and they will color your plastisol.
  6. For me it is getting a smaller diameter guard. I am still working on a Pee Wee knockoff and don’t like the traditional fiber guard in them. The regular fiber guard is 4 times the size of my 60# surflon.
  7. Thanks for the reply and the ideas.
  8. I’m still in the process of emulating Pee Wee jigs. I fish in some narly stuff with lots of rocks and wood. I have been using 60# surflon and it seems better than the Jewell wire. I bought some reducer pins from Cadman. They will allow me to select several sizes of wire weed guard. If you had the option would you use 90# surflon or stick with the 60#? I’m interested in options please before I proceed.
  9. Couldn’t you put a dab of epoxy on them and keep them from opening?
  10. Yes those are what you sent. They just look different up close and personal. I’m going to paint and skirt them so they can go swimming. Thanks again.
  11. I got them today. They don’t look in person like they do in pics.
  12. I too had never heard of jump rings. I think I will try some next time I pour jigging spoons.
  13. I fish highland reservoirs here in MO. We have lots of rocks and sunken wood which comes down from floods. I don’t know anything about this jig. For you who have it, does it get hung up any less than a regular football head?
  14. Have you checked Lure Works merthiolate?
  15. I did check out his vid. I’m glad he is back on his feet and posting again. After some good advice from Mark and Ted I have finally settled in on a version that I like. Theirs are the bottom two and mine are the top.
  16. I went ahead and got 200 of the mustad sickles. I’m doing this because I don’t like to go get hung up baits and leaving a $.50 bait is easier for me than leaving a $3.00 one.
  17. Mark I have had to go to your method. I got the 2/0 sickle hooks and the beads don’t allow enough room for the lead to flow around them on the 3/8 reduced to 5/16.
  18. I put them on when I build A rigs. I start with a spacer like one uses on spinner baits to space the blades. I choose the spot for the closest one to the head, wipe some superglue on the wire, slide the spacer over the glue and crimp it in place. Next I add a bead. Then I put a blade on a clevis and slide it up the wire. Next I add another bead. Finally I put superglue on the wire and slide a spacer over it and crimp it down. The glue is just an added step that I do because I have had a spacer come loose a time or two.
  19. Physically maybe not, psychologically yes it does.
  20. Mark that is where I started. I’m sure you are better at this than I. I did a few with a mill bastard file. It was a pain and inconsistent. I want them to weigh 7/16 so I had to keep checking. Ted’s idea is a lot easier and actually faster for me.
  21. Correct. I am just doing it for my personal use. A couple of dozen will last a long time.
  22. They have holes. I’ll try the thread. Thanks again. I gave them a try. It worked well. The tying is a bit cumbersome but doable.
  23. Probably not. I have 200+ pounds of free lead that I am trying to use.
