  1. I've mixed corn starch with silicone to make molds.
  2. When I use thread I use Danvil Flat Waxed because anything else I'll break (but braid and wire mostly on larger jigs, spinner baits, buzz baits).
  3. As usual concise explanation with a very good looking product. Thanks Frank.
  4. There is supposed to be one that can. I don't remember what it is called.
  5. I pour my soft sticks and my open molds. I inject my tubes, paca craws, night crawlers, and crappie baits. Pouring requires less cash layout.
  6. I've never had anything but a mess trying to melt down plastics that are full of salt.
  7. I don't know just what you are looking for but Curt Snow has a bunch of stuff listed in the for sale section of this site. I bought his 1/2 oz heads.
  8. I'd melt a little of that shot and see if it is soft. It may be shot with antimony in it.
  9. I ordered hooks from the Captain back in January. They were back ordered. Over the last 7 months they have come dribbling in. The last ones came this week.
  10. Welcome aboard. Great folks on this site. Man you are way too organized.
  11. My experience with hardner is a LITTLE GOES A LONG WAYS. It is very easy to get them too hard.
  12. I use Calhoun medium for everything. I have hardner and softner if I need it but rarely use it. I have the Bear's tube molds. I don't use any salt in my baits.
  13. All of them that I have used stink. The fish don't seem to mind though.
  14. Don't expect to pour in one spot and have the plastisol run the full length of the mold. Learn to pour a small stream and pour the length of the mold.
  15. I don't think that there would be enough movement to have any effect on the line. I may give that a try unless it shortens the wire more than I want.
  16. Try pouring slower and fill all the cavatives to the point of running over. You may also need to fashion some spru extenders. I use copper pipe joints.
  17. Do you have any trouble with the wire snagging your line? No matter what I did they kept getting together. That is why I switched to braid on the R loop.
  18. I've never been able to get good laminates with my side injection molds.
  19. Thanks for all the help. I've passed on the info. What they are looking for is flat eye ewg hook. So we shall see what happens and if or not something is purchased.
  20. Thanks. I'll try to look it up.
  21. Gaspumper that is exactly what it looks like. Most places are asking $2 a pop for them. I have a customer who wants some cheaper so I am looking for a mold.
  22. Mark that is a good trick and it works very well. I got tired of my $7 spinnerbaits breaking off like that and several times the fish swam away with the hook in its mouth and all I had was a wire and some blades. I tried the wire thing and never could keep it completely out of the way so I switched to using left over braided line. I just wrap it around the loop in the wire and glue the tag end down with Crazy glue as it comes with a brush in it. I have one spinnerbait that has been wrapped this way since early April. I threw it most every day when on my 3 week fishing trip in late April early May. It's still going strong and the braid hasn't come unwrapped. Smalljaw I have seen no change in its production. My partner has been using them without the braid and mine produce as well as his.
  23. I'm trying to locate one. If you have one that you'd sell or know where I can get them please let me know.
