  1. I have heard both of those ideas but haven't tried them yet. I guess I'll give them a try. I haven't talked to anyone who has done it so thanks for the insight.
  2. I need to be able to put them on and keep them on. I have tried several of my molds as well as screw locks and nothing is working well.
  3. for using on those stretch worms like the Zero, etc? I've been looking and can't find anything that I think will work.
  4. I have some made from cattle syringes and brass tubes. I use them to make the bait shown between the two.
  5. Thanks. I thought they might be some special heat resistant stuff and hard to find. I'll check at Lowe's or an auto supply store.
  6. I had not thought of that. That makes sense. My O rings are old. I asked for replacements but was sent the wrong size with my order.
  7. I'm using Bear's tube molds, Bear's injectors and Calhoun medium plastisol. I have several dozen tubes to make and am finding about 1 out of 12 have air pockets on the sides. I thought it was just a thin spot but it is indeed an air pocket. I have no idea how they get there. Anyone have a guess or know the answer?
  8. I'm still using the same old one from Wally World. It has been going for over 10 years.
  9. 1. I use Calhoun Medium. Get at least 1 gallon to start. 2. No I don't. 3. First shot maybe 30 seconds. Longer with each succeeding shoot. 4. Water to cool down, then towel to cure for a while. 5. Not familiar with that mold.
  10. I get air pockets when I inject too fast.
  11. Thanks Monte. That's what I assumed but wanted to be sure. Bob I have some molds that have to be clamped. They are not my favorites.
  12. I've been looking at Bait Junkys spade tail grub mold and it is listed as no knobs included. Are these knobs for screwing the sides of the mold together or something else? I've never had one of their molds.
  13. I've gotten a lot of tails from Stamina Inc. There colors have always been bright.
  14. The best advice I can give you is to read the Don'ts for newbies. It can save you some burns and shorten the learning curve.
  15. Sometimes I can post a pic here and sometimes I can't. Today is a can't day.
  16. Mine wasn't but is now. I taped a wire where I wanted the cable weed guard and put the mold in my shop vice. I closed and opened it a couple of time putting on lots of pressure. I took the wire out and added a bigger one. Repeating the process. When I had the indentation so the cable (Surflon and Sevelon 90#) would fit in the slot I poured up some heads. It works fine and has been going for about 10 years.
  17. I keep a bottle of cooking oil on the work bench top. I dip my plungers in it before I begin and again later if needed. I also use it to coat molds that have been setting around for a while.
  18. I never noticed much about fishing. All I see is bait making but then again that is all I look for.
  19. A fine example on here is a recent topic about bait keepers. There were 3 or 4 different ways to get to the same end. I combined 2 of them to get to where I wanted to be with those. That's why I use this site. There seem to be lots of ways to skin a cat and I like to read them all.
  20. OK Mark, I'm having trouble making a mental pic of what it looks like. Can you post a pic?
  21. This is a good thread. I'm gonna' combine small jaw's wire with Aarons tying method.
  22. Another great tip from one of the masters. I'm gonna' be putting some of those on my Ned Rig hooks. I'm glad you had that question Mark and thanks for the vid WD.
