  1. I don't normally have it more than a couple of inches in them. I have a few cups with experimental mixes and only have about 1" in them.
  2. If you want a resin mold look at the one from fishingskirts.com. That is what I have.
  3. A couple of questions: Is your pot rusty? Do you flux your lead?
  4. They used to have them at Ztackle.
  5. I pour with the pin in. I remove the pin and powder paint the head, then bake the head. I clean out the hole with a drill bit if necessary. I put on the skirt and lastly I put the weedguard in with superglue gel.
  6. They are the injection molds from Bear's. I got them at the same time that I got the injectors from him.
  7. I use the small one and the little nozzles for all my 2 color baits. I don't sell so I don't need more than that to make my baits. The small nozzles are not hard to use but they have to be pretty warm on the first shoot. I warm them up on a griddle while I am melting the plastisol. Here is how 2 color tubes come out.
  8. I don't know if this is helpful or not but I have the stuff from Bear's.
  9. I have that mold and for pins I cut up some house romex. I put a strip of duct tape over the wg slots to make sure that there was no flash. I used 12 g as that was all I had. 10 g might do it without the tape.
  10. Sorry I can't help. I've only used the 91768 BLN hooks in my PT molds. Maybe Ted can help you out when he sees this.
  11. I don't see how you could have a problem with it. I use it as a release agent in my single cavity brass injection molds.
  12. A lot of guys here sell but I don't because of all the government red tape and record keeping.
  13. Take a look at Shorty's Hook Sales. They have always had good prices on the hooks that they carry.
  14. I've only ever used the stirrup ones as that is all I can get locally.
  15. I use olive oil as my oil base and for paste petroleum jelly.
  16. I decided to try to use the image icon today. All it did was lock up the site.
  17. For some reason the site won't allow me to post pics any more. Has something changed? I've tried two different photo hosting sites and it won't allow either of them. I get an error saying something like you are not permitted to use that file extension in this community. What do I need to do?
  18. OK so I have a mold like Senkosam and have always had problems with it. I have never been able to get consistent pours or inject. Senkosam's idea of the sockets fixed my problem except that I could never get 4 to fit the top of the mold and the last one barely got the job done (but did get it done). I was in a hdw. store today and remembered the post from LLL Dave. So I bought 4 of the copper couplings for $0.59@. I just came in from making 8 pours and every one of them were flawless. Thanks so much to Senkosam for bringing this to my attention and for Dave for the copper coupling idea. That is why I have always like this site!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. My pot is over 25 years old and has made many thousands of jigs. I wore it out. For just a few bucks I got all new liner, nipple and plunger. Way cheaper than a new pot. Call the good folks at Do-It and see what they can do for you.
  20. I have coffee filters, vacuum cleaner bags, brown paper sacks, they all work and none of them leak for me.
  21. Me too on the sockets. I must have 6 or 8 sets. I tried some other stuff to use for extenders and none of them worked as well as your sockets. They are a bit of a pain but like you I don't sell them. I only use this mold every year or so and I hope I remember the sockets next time I decide to pour up a bunch. Nothing else has worked as well as the socket idea. I have tried stage pouring, slow pouring, fast pouring and injecting with two different sizes of injectors. The sockets haven't made a worm with a void yet.
  22. If you keep your injector tip submerged you won't draw air. I have a slanted box for my silicone cups so all the plastisol runs to the down hill side and helps me keep air out of the injectors.
  23. If I poured any slower I wouldn't have anything in the mold. When you state top off with a second pour do you mean stop before you see the material, go on to another cavity, etc then come back and finish?
  24. When I am making molds, I make sure my models are covered with cooking oil so they will come out of the mold.
