  1. You may be on target there. I’ve never been considered to be the brightest candle in the menorah.
  2. Thanks for the advice. I hadn’t considered it being the pot itself. I just assumed it was air cooling the spout. As far as I know I am done until cold weather. I just ran short of some and may need them next week.
  3. It’s been around 100° lately and inside the garage it has been 94°. I needed some football heads so I went out at 05:30 and plugged in the RCBS lead furnace. The garage was 84° this morning. After the lead melted I began pouring 1/2 oz jigs. I am using hard lead and keep the pot on 8. I was running a 24” oscillating fan about 20’ away. Before I got a dozen poured the lead stopped flowing. I turned off the fan and hit the pot nozzle with a propane torch. It poured immediately. I finished the 1/2 oz and started on 3/8 oz. It wasn’t long before the lead stopped flowing again. I turned off the fan and just let the pot set for about 5 minutes. The lead began flowing again. I turned the fan back on and continued pouring. It stopped working for the third time so I just turned it off. I’ll wait for cooler weather. I’ve never poured in this kind of heat and humidity before so this is a new experience. In fact I’ve never even heard of anything like this. Has this happened to you?

    Voids?

I’ve been shooting some twin tail grubs. It is an Angling A I 4 cavity 5” mold. My garage is 95°. I’m trying to keep the plastisol around 320°. I’m using full injectors. I’m injecting slowly and keeping pressure on for about 10 seconds when the mold is full. The tails are filling out well. About 20% of the baits have a hollow spot in the body. What am I overlooking?
  5. I don’t know what you want. I have powder paint from many sources. It is 5-10 years old, so is my Walmart aquarium pump. I have all kinds of filters and I use to pay attention to them. My stuff is in the garage with no humidity control. All of the cups have lids. When I get ready to paint I plug in the pump, turn the powder cup upside down and back, pull off the lid, put it in the holder, take an ice cream stick and stir it. Then it is ready to use.
  6. I too use silicone cups. I just squeeze the top to get the flow that I want. I’ve been using them for several years. https://www.amazon.com/Norpro-3014-1-Cup-Measure-Stir/dp/B002YL6174
  7. So is normal to you the volcanoes? I haven’t seen them in years but my paint is fluffy and goes on just fine.
  8. I keep a pan within a foot of the molds on the work bench, cut spru, pull out of mold, drop in water. After they cool I lay them on a towel to dry.
  9. Usually only a couple of minutes then immediately into a pan of water to cool.
  10. It does but Munkin has looked as several and hasn't been able to be sure so I just switched to Gammys.
  11. Any of you guys have a mold.
  12. There are lots on the market. My preference is Shimano. If you have a retail store nearby you should check them out and see what you like.
  13. I’ve had limited success with RTV silicone.

    Have you tried calling them?
  15. You are not wrong. He passed a few years ago. He was an encyclopedia of knowledge.
  16. Dirty jigs guppy head jig. https://dirtyjigstackle.com/products/matt-stefan-guppy-head 7147 BN , 9147 BN or something else?
  17. Have you considered drilling holes, threading them and adding screws?
  18. If you over heat and burn it you will definitely know it. It will smoke and stink.
  19. A single element hot plate and some pans will work. I did that for years. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Mainstays-Single-Burner-120V-1100W-Portable-Easy-to-Cook-Elegant-Classic-Design/488054826?athbdg=L1102&from=/search
  20. Thanks folks. I have some of the ones you mentioned and have modified others. I’m wanting something close to the one I posted for a really picky guy who currently uses it exclusively.
  21. Got a link since I’m drawing a blank on this?
  22. I have a mold with the wire keepers. It is not Keitech friendly, even with super glue on the head. The dirty jig holds the best.
  23. That’s something to think about. Thanks.
  24. I want something like the dirty jigs guppy mold to hold those fragile Keitech swim baits. I haven’t been able to find any thing. Is there anything out there? https://dirtyjigstackle.com/products/matt-stefan-guppy-head
  25. Your site stops when payment is selected. A get shipping rates comes up in red but doesn’t respond. I can’t find rates or get past that screen.
