  1. I think that would be the least you could use and have any dipping depth. When you turn on the pump, do you stir the powder to get it floating?
  2. Have you checked with John at Fin n Feather?
  3. I take my pins out before I paint. I hold the hook with pliers over the eyelet so I get no paint in it. I keep the heads as cool as possible to get a very thin coat of paint. I turn the head upside down and tap it against the cup rim letting most of the paint fall out. After it is cured I take a drill bit and clean out the hole. I sometimes use a coated cable for weedguard and hold it in place with duct tape. You might be able to do that when you go back to smaller hooks.
  4. My best guess is your heads are too hot and melting too much powder when you dip them. I like them just hot enough for the powder to stick and be dull. Then I bake them in my toaster oven and they get hard and shiny.
  5. Well I went out to the shop and looked at all the cups. Some of them still had bits of glitter on them so I took some 2" masking tape and WALA it got all of the glitter off. Thanks again bud.
  6. I thought about using some tape but that was after I got them cleaned up. The worst culprit seems to be the very smallest black glitter that I use in my various colors of sticks. Next time i'm gonna try the tape.
  7. I recently bought 4 of them and have retired most of my pyrex cups. I am, however, having a small issue with them. It seems that I always have some glitter sticking to the sides of the cups when I am done and take the plastisol out. Washing has not removed them. I tried WD-40 and a paper towel and it didn't work. All I have found is to take a popsicle stick and get them one at a time. Do any of you know an easy way to get the glitter off?
  8. I don't have a measure but an itty bit goes a long way. Most of the time I add hardner I wind up throwing the stuff away because it is too hard.
  9. I use coffee filter, vaccum bag filters, brown paper bags all held on with cheap silicone.
  10. Don't eat. Don't lick your fingers. Don't smoke. (WHILE YOU ARE POURING) You'll be ok. I have been pouring since way before you were born and I still have only 2 eyes.
  11. If you have any kind of reading lamp, move it to the baits and turn it on let the heat from the bulb be on them for a while and it will prolly trigger the setup. I have done that with epoxy and even when fiberglassing in boats when I did not get it right.
  12. Make one out of the brown bag and give it a try.
  13. I have used a lot of HF powder and it works just fine for me with brown paper grocery bags as filter material. Do you have a flow control valve on your air pump? What medium are you using for filters on your cups?
  14. I don't know the diameter but it comes in lots of different # tests. Janns or Barlows may list the diameter of theres. I have the guys at Bass Pro order it in for me. I use it in tube inserts from 1/8 to 3/8 oz and in my 1/8 oz poison tail jigs.
  15. I use vinyl coated steel leader in 90#. It is called Sevalon or Surflon depending on where I get it.
  16. Any of that will work. I have used most everything out there. The worst I have had is printer's lead. It really has something in it that is hard maybe antimony. It just takes a bit hotter pot to melt. Get what ever you can lay your hands on cheaply and learn how to work with it.
  17. Matt the reason I asked how many is I only have 2 or 3 that have had to be sprayed. If you have a pesky mold or so, you could bring them by and spray them at my house as we only live about 10-12 miles apart. I bought mine for the poison tail mold which has given me fits since day one.
  18. I haven't but Nixa Country gun and pawn might have something or Ozark Shooters. I got mine in Wichita, KS but they couldn't mail it and had to Fed Ex so shipping was more than the agent. How many molds do you need to spray?
  19. I like the nor por silicone cups.
  20. I haven't done sticks for a while but I got a lot of voids when I was injecting. I was in a hurry to get some made for a 2 week fishing trip so I wound up pouring. I'm sure I was injecting too fast but haven't retried it. With that many molds once you get a rhythm you won't have to lay the injector down for quite a while and it will cool off enough to clean while you are demolding your 4 or so dozen baits.

Also check places like Jann's Netcraft, Barlow's Tackle Shop, Bear's Baits, Lure Craft, just to name a few. See what they offer and some prices.

For FnF I use either a round head or minnow head in 1/16 oz with a #2 hook. I also use craft hair.
  23. In warm weather I put them in a pan of water.
