  1. I got some Round Nose pliers from Walmart's Craft Section, very inepensive, good quality. I've been bending .045 and .0625 SS wire with it!
  2. Some suppliers of Mold Making and Casting Materials. (Silocone and Urethane Rubber and Accessories also Foams, Resins etc) http://www.shopmaninc.com/products.html http://www.smooth-on.com/ http://alumilite.com/ Supplies with Tutorials on Mold Making.
  3. Jason, he made the models out of wood,(That's where the true art is) then made a silicon mold from the models. Then he used expanding urethane foam, 15 lb density, in the molds. (You half fill the molds and it will expand, taking on the molds detail.) It's about as hard as maple when done correctly. Some of them are photo finished over foil others are painted. In any case, the end results are spectacular on all of them.
  4. This fellow could well be the "King of the Foamies" I just found this and thought some of you would enjoy the display.
  5. No hard feelings here. Perhaps I should have explained my proposal more clearly. Kahawai put out 3 unbelieveably beautiful plugs. Too bad they're made for Musky's and now he's in Singapore. Surely, they'd catch there too!
  6. Thanks A, THAT'S IT. The models he made for his molds were truly beautiful. I'm sorry that he hasn't reposted some of his pictures since the crash. They're dazzling!
  7. I don't know where you taking this but you've never seen me squirm. I was just answering, civilly. And why would that was it nice to you? What did I ever do to you?? Just curious..
  8. It's about a real good builder from GB who put together some Photo finished foamies that were the cat's meow. You see, you're not the only Board member here from GB. His Monicker was was something like Haluwa, but I don't recall it, precisely. In any event, his work was excellent.
  9. Rough cut around the template with aviation snips then take it down the rest of the way with a grinder. Finishing touches are done with a fine file. Drill all holes prior to cutting. Spinning SS will cost you your other thumb. Here's what I use. Glue it on to the SS, drill, cut and bend. 5 minutes, start to finish, even with 9 digits!
  10. I rarely post anywhere other than here and was thinking of it being a Hard Bait topic. As I said, it was meant to promote a helpful scenario, and not to alienate or offend anyone. If I could, I'd withdraw the thread, based upon the path it has taken.
  11. JM:twocents:, but each forum should have their own GOTO guys. I.E. the Soft bait group could have a specialist who could show how to get perfect 2 tone pourings. And it's not just for the basics, but more for the "what do I do now?" specific, technical questions. It was probably a bad Idea based upon the response, as I appear to have either presented it wrong or it was inherently flawed.
  12. So, you'll be trying it come June, eh! LaPala and Vytautas have "Bent" Lexan with good results, and as you said, it allows for action different from a straight lip. I would suggest you also try using SS (.022) and brass as lip materials. They are easier to configure and can be adjusted after construction.
  13. It's just a go to list of those who have shown specific expertise is on way or another. by definition. Councilor: 2.a body of persons specially designated or selected to act in an advisory,
  14. One of those Tiggers was supposed to be Rowhunter. Also, I left off the original Skeeter, by oversight. I just proposed it as a go to list for specific fields of expertise.
  15. Thank you Skeeter Jones. BTW, some of those I mentioned are relatively new members.
  16. Well, I'm sorry you feel that way. Perhaps something was lost in the translation. BTW, I'll trade my 94 Mini for your 90 Buick and I'll throw in a Happy Meal, too. 17. I didn't intend to alienate anyone. I figured most artistic organizations make some sort of recognition (Oscars, Tony's, All Star etc) to those who have excelled, far beyond the norm. PLUS, it'll give all the new members a list of folks to PM!
  18. Thanks for the thought, but I'll always, by choice and lack of artistic ability, be a "Hammer Mechanic." Yeah, I'll get you jump started and get you running, but some of you guys, here are building "Ferrari's" while I'm happy getting that 94 Mini Van to keep running. BTW, one guy I ashamedly didn't put on the list was Jerry. After all, he built this board. Oh, and Jed, who has mastered the Glider, no simple task.
  19. For starters, I nominate, LaPala, Tigger, Vytautas, FatFingers, Black Jack, Tigger, Etch, Legendary Lures and The fellow From GB with the Polynesian Monicker (Help with his name would be appreciated). These guys make lures I'd be afraid to get wet, due to their high quality of workmanship and detail! I must have missed others, sorry. Who else did I miss?? Add to the list and I'll ask Jerry to make it Sticky!

You're right, the color is a bit too amber. But it's still BEAUTIFUL!!!!
  21. Go to a local welding supply house. You should be able to pick up a pound of 3 ft. SS welding rods for under 10 bucks. I usually opt for the .045 dia. while a lot of the Striper guys go fo .0625.
  22. Before you dress it up, make a silicon mold from it. Urethane resin and micro balloons can get that piece of work to live on forever!
  23. Imagine how you would have done if it had hooks!!! You passed the ultimate test, the rest being pomp and circumstance.

Feasting my eyes on your handy work is more than enough thanks for me. Keep them coming.
