  1. Maybe even a cap to commemorate the event. Decide an official name for the event. 2008 MO-TU Rendezvous.
  2. The 2-part clears are designed to be sprayed. The best method for applying to lures would be with a detail gun, conventional or hvlp will work. However with conventional guns the paint is atomized more which translate to slicker finish. A conventional gun uses more material than a hvlp which don't shoot clear as slick. You will need a good full face respirator and a booth capable of dispatching with the fumes and overspray.
  3. Jed, there are numerous high solids urethane clears that will work, they are all expensive! With limited shelf life once opened. PPG and Dupont are most likely easier to find here. Just about all the major automotive paint manufactures have an high quality clear.
  4. In addition, to the plastic spence, Cotton Cordell made an all plastic scout. The original Water Scout was made C.A. Clark Bait Co. The spence is the same lure but of lesser quality. You will have to hit the swap meets and ebay to find the old water scouts.
  5. If you are interested in the Spence Scouts, take a look at the old Clark's Water Scout.
  6. I plan on attending Friday, Saturday and Sunday!
  7. Yes, Pete, That post went bye bye! The basic design has been around for some time.
  8. For anyone interested in making a self-propelled lure the robotuna might lend some insight toward your own design. http://web.mit.edu/towtank/www/Tuna/tuna.html
  9. Interesting note on vortexes and flight: The Russians designed and made a plane that utlilized wing vortices to fly several feet off the water. The lift was predominately or totally create by the compression of wing vortices against the water.
  10. What type of pole are you going to user for that?
  11. Dave, as advanced in the game as you're, I am sure if you revisit the fundamentals of icehole casting you will correct the problem.
  12. Dave, that 8 ft. extension will get you the distance your looking for. With a little practice you will soon develop the skill required to execute a cast with the perfect arc that will drop that lure right in the hole! Good Job!
  13. No, I think Dave is serious. He mentioned taking his rig to the TU meet in Clinton and finding someone to help him with his technique and distance!
  14. It appears to be coming along quite well! Yes, couple of wall jacks would have made that job much easier. We used them on about every wall we could. Has been a while since I did any rough-in. To give you an idea how long, we were hand driving all the nails and no engineered lumber, I guess you don't have to crown an engineered joist? My how things have changed. Sure enjoy the pics.
  15. Nathan Yes, Boulevard has a few good ones, the wheat or the pale ale will work. There is a brew pub or two in town that supposedly have some good beers. Pete, There is a winery in Branson, Stone Hill, I think is the name, from what I hear they produce a good wine. Yes, we will try a few of the craft beers!
  16. Many to choose from nowdays the big brewers are all making craft beers, some are good, some are crop failure at best.
  17. Here in Missouri we drink only the finest swill available, not a problem if you're a journeyman at the vice.
  18. Better lay off that swill!
  19. The fast way to remove the old finish is with a sandblaster, using anything from walnut hulls to plastic beads. You find the right meduim and no surface filling is required other than a coat of primer or paint.
  20. I think Clemmy is talking about forming/bending a hacksaw blade and then using the blade to cut tape for masking the bill. If the blade is bent/formed around the front of the bait. The cut tape should fit exactly to the contour of the bait and mask the bill.
  21. I thought you might be drinking again!
  22. Good fishing advice there Coley, Sure I will show you when you get to Clinton
