I see that we are at 1999 members. Who will be the lucky number 2000? : I've been watching the membership grow steadily and I think that this is just great. ( I check it each time I log on) Jerry and "the boys" have done a fantastic job. Thank you for a great site.
  2. I bought a 55 gal drum............no problem either.
  3. If you look in the photo gallery you'll find a goby I did for a customer.
  4. I use water softner salt. It's 99.98% pure and sells for about $3.00 for 40 lbs. Works great, although you do have to break it up before you can "flour" it.
  5. hard to get the plastic out of your veins, eh?
  6. Check out the soft plastics gallery. I have a firetiger color there that might be what you're looking for.
  7. I agree that you have to take some care with the over-pours. Neatness does count. As far as the baits themselves go I tell my customers "I guarantee all of my baits; I just can't guarantee the fisherman".
  8. If you put the salt in before you heat it will disolve much easier. It also won't clump up, but you do have to stir it really well to make sure there are no clumps. By doing it this way you can increase the salt content very easily.

    In Drag!!

You don't get out much, do you? Just kidding.........it takes guts to post a pic like that.
  10. I use a good coffee grinder to flour the salt. You have to mix your salt in the plastic before you heat it. The one thing you have to remember it that your stir it before, during and after. In other words; you have to make sure that the salt has not clumped at the bottom before you heat it because after the heating it is very difficult to get the lumps out.
  11. Some years ago I had a customer who wanted 3 spinnerbaits with black skirts and included in these black skirts he wanted 6 strands of red all on the bottom. He told me that if there were not exactly 6 strands of red and 24 strands of black in each shirt he would not take them. I told him to try somewhere else. Point is; some people go way too far with their thinking of what a fish will take and what they won't. Takes all kinds I guess.
  12. The only time I angle my molds is when I'm pouring a laminate. Other than that the molds are vertical. I flour my salt as well and I can get 35 to 40% salt by volume.
  13. Maybe a motor controled by a riostat so that you can gradually increase the speed as needed.

    Got it all.....

A buddy of mine had a break-in a few years ago. They got all of his fishing gear( rods included) as well as all of his air tools, some new in a box. The total was $17000; and then the insurance came into the picture and stole from him on the other end. In the end he only got $8500 back. Good luck with your claim.
  15. Happy "B" day. Always remember( and explain it to your wife) that every day you go fishing, is another day added to your life.
  16. Same here Calvin. I also use their scents and I don't have that problem.
  17. That should work too; as long as you generate enough heat to dispurse the moisture.
  18. I use this trick when I'm pouring salt baits. Before you use the salt, or before you grind it, put it in a pot and heat it up on the hotplate. This "cooking" will eliminate all of the moisture that the salt has attracted; hence, it won't wind up in your plastic. Since I have been doing this I don't get moisture in the plastic. I heat the salt even if it dosen't feel damp. Give it a try, I think you'll like the results.

    Worms

I'm with you Jake. I do the same thing.
  20. I'm going to take a stab at it without seeing the color, but I would guess white with a touch of amber.
  21. Green smoke is my latest with gunsmoke glitter. In your hand it looks like medium smoke and when you hold it up it looks to be between green pumpkin and watermelon. I gave some samples to a few friends to try and everyone of them (6) told me that they worked really well.
  22. We have a 15% tax on almost everything we sell up here.(retail) 7% wholesale. That's the main reason we have free health care.
