    3 color stick

This was poured with a 3 chamber split cup.
  2. There is a tool used in tying flys that is called a wing burner. It's a tweezer type tool that is shaped to a specific design. You simply pinch the material in the tweezers and burn off the parts sticking out beyond the metal with a torch. You would have to use bristles from a real hair paintbrush; synthetics would just melt the edges; unless that is what you want. www.novalures.com
  3. My face mask is a 3M. They are a little pricey but what is your health worth? www.novalures.com
  4. When I started pouring 22 years ago I poured only once in the basement. My wife came downstairs and told me either the pouring goes or I go. Well; I'm still here and I pour in my garage. Dave I use a hooded fan with venting to the outside for short pouring times and I use a full face respirator and the fan when I'm out there for hours. Play safe; don't be cheap with your health. www.novalures.com
  5. There ya go Dave. Maybe you should buy some shares in the local bamboo farm; lol. www.novalures.com
  6. You're an "outside the box" thinker; I like that. I haven't made hardbaits for at least 15 years; but a thought jumped into my head as I read your post. This may be a little off topic but have you thought; or has anyone thought; of using bamboo as a body for a lure. It's very hard, waterproof(I think) and it's hollow. www.novalures.com
  7. I think you've got it there Dave. Glitter seems to be the culprit. I think I saw holigram glitter in the pic. That one can be bad on reheats. Also, set your cup on something other than your table. I use a piece of silicone cutting board(used to use old rtv molds). I've only had a couple of cups go on me and they were both my fault(learning curve). www.novalures.com
  8. From what I saw it was stirring beans and some thickened sauces, so it should stir plastisol. www.novalures.com
  9. The easiest way for what you want to do is to use dipping dyes. www.novalures.com

    Buzz Baits

You're an inventive guy. You should design your own. www.novalures.com
  11. lol. None of our wives are happy. www.novalures.com

    Scent

LC scents are highly concentrated. You only need a few drops. www.novalures.com
  13. I like it. Looks very similar to one that I do. www.novalures.com
  14. Don't put any strawberry in it, that's where the "purple" is coming from. Just use lots of red but keep a record of what you do when you do it so that you will be able to repeat the process. If you want it darker just add a drop of black. www.novalures.com
  15. I like it. Sort of a twist on a bait called super-do. www.novalures.com
  16. When you are experimenting with colors don't forget to write down everything that you do; as you do it. That way if what you are doing works out, you can repeat it. www.novalures.com
  17. There you go. Exactly what I thought. There is a tool that Kalin's puts out called a worm threader that is can be used for this. Another way is to tie a knot in the center of the silicone strip and lay it across the open mold after half of the mold is poured; then finish the pour. The knot will stop the legs from pulling through the bait. It's a very labour intensive bait but you can create some very interesting lures. www.novalures.com
  18. Not quite the same Dave. He's using living rubber/silicone and crystal flash. They will deform with the heat. www.novalures.com
  19. I'm going to wait to see if he tells before I put my thoughts on how he did it. www.novalures.com
  20. It would be helpfull if you posted a pic here. Depending on where you are in the world, eels have a slightly different coloring; also age of the eel has a bearing as well. www.novalures.com
  21. You are quite correct. www.novalures.com

    Color Help

That's why they call it sunrise Richard. You drink enough of that stuff and everything looks kind of pinkish. lol www.novalures.com
  23. Similar thing happened to me a long time ago. Never thought about freezing. After that I got a denim type material and made an apron. If the pants don't clean up you can always make them into an apron. At least they won't go to waste. www.novalures.com
  24. If you really want to know if it will hold up; buy it and put it in a pre-heated, 350 degree oven for about 15 minutes. Even if it holds up(which it won't) you have to remember that it was not under any pressure. In short; you couldn't pay enough money to use something like that.lol There is one rule with this hobby(as far as I'm concerned) and that is, you buy the best that you can afford. www.novalures.com
  25. Try LC'S pumkinseed and a drop of red. There might even be a slight touch of red highlight as well. It's kind of hard to tell with the salt in it. What I usually do is melt down the bait. That way the salt settles and you just see the plastic color which makes it much easier to copy. www.novalures.com
