  1. Watched the video; very interesting and a little scary with the water around the hot plastisol. Try using and aluminum pipe instead of the PVC pipe and with the Pam spray the tube will come out a lot easier. One question though; do you really fish bass with tubes that big? www.novalures.com
  2. Thanks for the nod Cami. Glad to help. Would be nice if the link worked. www.novalures.com
  3. That's the craziest thing I've ever seen. That's got to be the most exspensive plastic bait yet. Who is going to wait that long for plastic to set up? Another waste of money as far as I'm concerned and a prime example of "if it ain't broke; don't fix it". Good for kids though; lot safer than 300 degree plastic. Just my 2 cents. www.novalures.com
  4. Exactly what I thought would happen Jim. Color can be a tricky thing sometimes. Most all of those color shift paints for cars have to be laid down over a solid color like silver or black to get the full effect of the shift. www.novalures.com
  5. Ok; going by the color I see at Zoom I would start with 4 oz plastic; 10 drops LC stawberry and 6 drops LC natural and of course the black flake. You might have to tinker with it after to fine tune it. www.novalures.com
  6. Isn't that the way it's supposed to look? lol Just keep the wife out or you won't ever find anything again. www.novalures.com
  7. The only thing I've come up with is to don't go over half full and they will pour better. I just use them doing delicate pours. www.novalures.com
  8. Here you go Dave. www.novalures.com

  10. Ok guys; here's what I came up with. Part 1 has to be cut and folded. The front section cut will go inside the dividers of the cup and the back part of the fold will go outside of the dividers. Part 2 is put on top of part 1 and held together with one pop rivet which will act as a pivet point. Part 2 has a handle attached with two pop rivets. The handle extends back to the handle of the cup to be operated with your thumb. The pointed section of part 2 will act as a gate to control the flow of plastic from the center of the cup. The main problem I'm running into is that the gate hole plugs up a little. Hint:- please don't attach this to your cup and then try to heat it in the micro. I know the "old timers" wouldn't do it, but I'm afraid a "newbie" might. If anyone improves on this please post your changes. www.novalures.com
  11. Just to put a twist on this topic; I've been working on a gizmo to control the flow of plastic on a 3 part cup. If it works out I'll let you guys know. www.novalures.com
  12. I like the way your brain works. Now you've got my brain going and there's not a lot of room left; lol. www.novalures.com
  13. Well there; I didn't know who came up with it, now I do. Thanks. Maybe you could post a pic for the guys who don't quite know how to make one, as my camera has gone in the trash. www.novalures.com
  14. Hardly shot to heck if you like swirls. Sure not every bait is the same but then again not every baitfish or insect is the same either. Trust me the fish really don't mind. I do understand that the fishermen mind; but then again they don't eat the baits they only buy them. www.novalures.com
  15. I take my salt and put it in a pan then on the hotplate to make sure the moisture is gone before I put it in the plastic. www.novalures.com
  16. Well there. I figured if anyone had tried it, it would be you Jim. I've just done the one pour with scrap plastic to see how it worked. I get the swirls as well but I rather like them. I made the center pour spout a little higher than the glass spout.(easier to take metal off rather than put it on;lol) What level did you do yours? I found that if I pour very close to the sprue I get a better separation with less of the swirling action. www.novalures.com
  17. The daughter is coming home for the weekend hopefully with her camera. www.novalures.com
  18. I just completed my first pour with a 3 way split cup. Really an interesting looking bait. I used a 4 cup pyrex cup and zinc flashing. My camera crapped out on me or I would have posted a pic but I think you guys who have made a split cup can visualize what it would look like. Hint:- don't use 2 pieces of flashing; just use one piece and fold it over. Has anyone else tried this? www.novalures.com
  19. The easiest answer is don't do it unless you have to re-heat the sprues or mispours. Don't try to complicate the process. You'll find out it's not really a shortcut and can wind up costing you money for burnt plastic. It takes about the same amount of time to melt fresh plastic as it does to re-heat solid plastic. www.novalures.com
  20. Pics were a little fuzzy but they seemed to look quite nice. Remember it's all about having fun. www.novalures.com

  22. Have a good one Dave. www.novalures.com
  23. I know what you are referring to it's a latex type bait. All I was trying to do was to give you alternative suggestions to spark you're imagination. Do you pour plastics? www.novalures.com
  24. I designed one a couple of years ago but is not molded, it's poured. Works great too. www.novalures.com
  25. I've had one for a couple of years. Used it thousands of times with no problems at all. www.novalures.com
