  1. Good for you Mike. www.novalures.com
  2. Mineral oil is the basis for baby oil so stay away from that as well. Duh; I didn't see the post about mineral oil. Sorry. www.novalures.com
  3. If you use lead for the jighead you will have to seal it with something that will not react to the plastic. Lead will react with the plastic over time and start to break down. It will leave a milky white residue inside the bait. www.novalures.com
  4. Yes I have. The reason it's done is to prevent the "slinky" effect when you open the bail and the line springs off the spool trying to get back to the bulk spool memory. www.novalures.com
  5. You're a little out of sync. What you do is spool up your line on the reel and then put the reel spool in "WARM" water for a few minutes. This is supposed to re-memory the line to the reel spool. www.novalures.com
  6. Why don't you just supply the TU paid members at first and go from there; or even work something out with redg8or to sell the product right through TU. Would be a lot safer. www.novalures.com
  7. I have several bulk spools of mono that I've had for as much as 10 years and they are fine. The two most damaging things are heat and light. So, as long as you keep them cool and dark you should be fine. www.novalures.com

    Foam

Check out your local hardware stores for differant types of foam. (although you may have some trouble finding many types as you live in Texas). www.novalures.com
  9. Jim mentioned about the moisture that salt will hold. I use my hotplate and an old aluminum pot to heat the salt up gently to get the moisture out of it before I use it in the plastic. This will help greatly with the bubbles. Just don't burn the salt by using too much heat. I know that some guys say they live in a "dry" climate; but trust me, there is still some moisture in the air and the salt will attract it. www.novalures.com

  11. Nothing wrong with those baits. Nice work on the molds also. I think you're on your way down the right road. www.novalures.com

Have a good one Dave. www.novalures.com
  14. Tighten the nut up as hard as you can and then touch it with a mig where the bottom of the nut touches the bolt. The only downside is that you will have to cut it off if you ever change it out. www.novalures.com
  15. I'll give you the belly color but I can't give the back color. 4 oz. plastic; 1/16 tsp white pearl; 1/8 tsp small silver holi. www.novalures.com
  16. If you are trying to get a divorce then fill your boots. If you aren't going that route, then give your head a shake and get those thoughts right out of your head. When I first started, I poured one time in the basement and darn near spent the night on the couch. It made my wife into a crazy person. www.novalures.com
  17. Yes, to some degree. I also noticed that black colorant has a slightly different smell. www.novalures.com

    respirators

Get one that handles organics. I use a 3m full face respirator. They are expensive but what price do you put on your eyes? I have had 2 pyrex cups blow up on me. Both times it was my fault; but it only takes a second and a brain hicup and then it's too late. www.novalures.com
  19. Another good tip is not to pour too quickly. What you don't want is to fill the spru before the mold is full. www.novalures.com
  20. Stay away from Lexmark. The cost of the ink cartridges will kill you. I have an HP printer and it works great. As for the labels; Avery has a great selection and there are a lot of programs out there for them. www.novalures.com
  21. I've never had a sparking problem with mine. I didn't use aluminum, I used tin roof flashing. www.novalures.com

    Colors

That's why you should stick with primary colors at first. This will allow you to get used to mixing colors; as stated above. www.novalures.com
  23. Dave and Longhorn I don't blame you. I said what I said and I believe what I believe and that's enough. If anything starts up from this; those that do will wind up playing with themselves. www.novalures.com
  24. Dave, we had about 60 mm's last night; I'll send you some. lol:lol: We've had quite a wet summer this year. About a month ago one lake we fish went up 16" in two weeks. I've been building a new barn and we are over 3 weeks behind in the construction because of the rain. www.novalures.com
  25. Couldn't have said it better myself. www.novalures.com
