  1. Good for you. Now you have a center to your universe. www.novalures.com
  2. Don't wait so long before pouring the second color. 15 to 20 seconds is plenty of time. www.novalures.com
  3. The main problem with 2 part resin molds is the heat warping; both rom the curing stage and pouring baits. I only tried it once and could not get a good seal between the parts so there was a great deal on flashing when I poured. More trouble than it's worth. If you want to try it I would use a thin layer of vasaline as a release agent. www.novalures.com
  4. Good for you Dave. Kids can be a great source of joy and pride over the years. All the best to you and your family. www.novalures.com
  5. Here's something I've been thinking about and this seems to be the perfect time to ask. What about using one of those small 5 or 10 amp solar panels to supply a charge while you're out on the water? www.novalures.com
  6. Yes you can; but a word to the wise. It can be more of a pain because it will bubble and stink quite a bit. www.novalures.com
  7. When I made resin molds I just used straight resin (Bondo) and did not have a problem with "shine". If your master is shiny there should not be a problem. Maybe the talc (which I never used) is the problem. www.novalures.com
  8. Try this:- 4oz plastic 2 drops black LC black flake (I think) 1/16 tsp violet highlight. www.novalures.com
  9. Also add a little liquid plastic to the pot before you reheat. This will help dispurse the heat. www.novalures.com
  10. Looks like a light smoke with black and a bluish flake. Not quite sure what color that other flake is. www.novalures.com
  11. I've got a few. What are you looking for? www.novalures.com
  12. Add a touch of green highlight to that and it should look really good. www.novalures.com
  13. Good idea. I've seen those in the Dollar Store. I'll have to get one when I get my shop back in operation. www.novalures.com
  14. For the swims you will still need a weight Jim or the bait will roll. www.novalures.com
  15. No problem; glad to help. Post a pic when you get them done. www.novalures.com
  16. I was too; but I said what the heck. www.novalures.com
  17. Roboworm - Products - FX 6" Straight Tail It says the colors right with the picture. www.novalures.com
  18. If you look in the recipie sticky you will see a recipie that uses red highlight. If you use this for one side and black for the other you will have a very different red shad. www.novalures.com
  19. In an open mold you pour the first color; let it set for a few seconds and then pour the second color on top. Some guys allow the first layer to cool quite a bit; but I don't.(personal preferance). I even like to pour the second layer as soon as I can. This will give you a blended look to the lamination which to me is more natural than a fine line connection of the two colors. Try to master laminations in open molds before you move on to 2 piece molds. (this can be tricky). Show us some pics when you get going. www.novalures.com
  20. Get your hands on a cheap marble cutting board. Candy makers use marble to cool the liquid candy. www.novalures.com
  21. Yep; the super glue at the Dollar Store. I assume that you want to glue the plastic down to make a mold. www.novalures.com
  22. Not a lot differant as far as time for removing baits. Like any other mold; the more you pour at one time; the hotter the mold will get. And that makes the bait removal time a little longer. www.novalures.com
  23. I've tried windex solution and I kept getting bubbles. Now I use a heatgun set on the lowest setting. I put it on the stand it came with and turn it on. I pass the bait in front of it to warm just a little, then I start to spray. Every few seconds I pass the bait in front of the gun and the paint dries before it has a chance to separate. Works great and there is only the paint and water in the air. You also don't have to worry about your brush. www.novalures.com

    Adding scent?

You can add the scent to the bag of baits or you can add the scent to the plastic just before you pour it. Just make sure you stir it in before you pour the baits. www.novalures.com
