  1. I posted a motoroil recipe in the sticky a while ago that is very close to that. www.novalures.com
  2. Looks more like LC motoroil to me with pumkinseed. www.novalures.com
  3. If they throw all those horses into reverse they'd tear the transom off;lol. www.novalures.com
  4. I prefer epoxy to seal POP molds; I like the finish. (I'm not knocking elmer's) My first mold was made in the early 90's and the finish is still good. It just depends on which material you like to use. www.novalures.com
  5. Just the sticks although I do experiment with other baits for myself. www.novalures.com
  6. PM sent. www.novalures.com
  7. That's exactly what I do Delw; but it works best when the plastic is still warm. www.novalures.com
  8. If you are giving them away you'll have more friends than you thought you had. At least charge them enough to cover your cost, including elec. www.novalures.com
  9. Not that I'm aware of. Just a steady hand and at least one good eye;lol. If you get a slight over-dip deal with it when the plastic is still warm and before you dip again. www.novalures.com
  10. Looks good to me. Just got to clean up the edges (carefully) and seal. By George, I think you've got it,lol. www.novalures.com
  11. You would need a 40 HP for a trolling motor;lol www.novalures.com
  12. Welcome; you'll be hooked very soon. lol If you have specific questions after you do your searching; just ask. remember, there are no stupid questions. www.novalures.com
  13. Your best bet is to buy it in bulk and then re-package it. There are lots of wholesalers out there; just Google it. www.novalures.com

    Crooked baits

When fresh baits set in one static position they can assume that shape. As stated before you can put them in hot water to sraighten them out; but very few customers will take the time to do this. The oil allows the baits to move within the bag so that they will not set in one position long enough to assume a shape. I use a very little bit of oil combined with concentrated scent. This way the baits get "oiled" and scented at the same time. www.novalures.com
  15. I use a marble cutting board (I stole from the kitchen..shhhh) to make my pop molds. I have no trouble getting it off after it sets up. It doesn't come up; like picking up a book from the table; I do have to grab it with both hands and twist it while it's still in the frame, carefully. I haven't tried spraying the board with Pam before; but I must try that the next time I make one. www.novalures.com

    JB Weld??

The JB works great but you will find that when the plastic cools in the cup it's hard to get it off the weld; especially with salt in the mix. At least that's what I have run into. www.novalures.com
  17. Post a pic Brian; we'll see what we can do. www.novalures.com
  18. I've used VMC in the past...no problem with them. Nice and sharp. www.novalures.com
  19. You can always buy a bottle of hardner. That way you only need one type of plastic for all your needs. www.novalures.com
  20. Try Hagensfish.com www.novalures.com
  21. Looks like we're a growing concern Mike. Sure is nice to see so many Canadains on TU and ejoying the addiction. www.novalures.com
  22. Take a piece of aluminum plate 1/4" in the shape of the bow of your boat. Have a vertical piece welded on it so you can attach a wooden block with bolts to mount the t-motor. Attach the whole thing to your rub rails with ss bolts. You should be able to do this for less than $100. www.novalures.com
  23. I use one to fix small problems. If you have small cold cracks they can fix those too. Just heat gradually; don't try to do it quickly or you will scorch the plastic and also may start the plastic to run. Takes practice. www.novalures.com
  24. Try 1 drop of black and 2 drops of motoroil (Lc colors) in 4 oz plastic with fine gold glitter to start for the back. ( you may need to adjust the drops as you go to get the shades you want). For the belly...4oz plastic with 4 drops of white. Let us know how it works out for you. www.novalures.com
  25. In a word...yes. Take a straight piece of wire about 6" long and make a half circle on one end; stick the straight end into the tail end of the worm far enough so that the worm will not fall off. Dip into the plastic and pull out right away; don't hold it into the plastic for long. Then hang the bait up with the ben you put in the wire to let it cool. If you get too much of a shape change on the nose then after it's cooled down, take a micro torch and reshape the nose to the way you want it. www.novalures.com
