  1. The pain begins because the air gets to it and the nerve endings are bare. You need to cover it with an antibacterial salve. www.novalures.com
  2. In a word....no. It will stiffen the baits. www.novalures.com
  3. I don't think I would. Try a few drops of scent in the bag instead. www.novalures.com
  4. Not to minimize your pain but; been there, done that. Like I've said to many folks; it's not "if you burn yourself; it's how bad and how mant times." You're right, it only takes a second of brain lapse. Take care of the burns so they don't infect. www.novalures.com
  5. Nothing wrong with those baits; especially for re-melts. One bit of advice though; don't use the same micro that you eat from. It's not healthy. You can buy a cheap one for under $50 and that will work just fine once you get used to how it heats.(every micro is not the same) www.novalures.com
  6. I'm in Canada and I got mine on sale at Canadian Tire I think it was $25 Cdn at the time which would have made it around $20 Usd. I'm not knocking your stove (I'm sure it's a nice one) but I'm saying they are not designed for doing what you are doing. The temp control needs to be a reostat type. This will give you much better heat control. There is a temp to get your plastic to the pouring stage and a slightly lower temp is needed to "keep" the plastic pourable. Now all that being said; the longer you keep the holi in the heat, the more chance it will curl or loose it's reflective ability. www.novalures.com
  7. When you say "electric stove" do you mean a kitchen stove or a hotplate? Kitchen stoves are designed for one thing only and that's to cook. Their temp contorls are not very precise and tend to lean more on the hotter side. If this is what you are using you need to get a hotplate. You can get a double burner for about $20 on sale. www.novalures.com
  8. If you don't have enough molds to handle what you are mixing then maybe you shoud cut your recipie in half. That way you won't have to reheat so many times. www.novalures.com
  9. The only trick I know is how to clean up the mess after; lol. It's going to stick to everything (static) no matter what you do. Just don't use a styrofoam cup to get it out of the bag. www.novalures.com
  10. That combo might be neat poured out of the split cup. www.novalures.com
  11. That's just green pumpkin over green pumpkin with blue flake. www.novalures.com
  12. Ditto Bruce. Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there. www.novalures.com
  13. If you're not sure if your nuts have grease on them or not, don't take a chance. Wash your nuts in laquer thinner or some other kind of solvent making sure you dry them well before you use them. Ok guys; have at it. lol www.novalures.com
  14. They are poured in a one piece mold. I don't think you could do that in a two piece. Those pours were just an experiment in pouring. They are very time consuming to do as well as tricky. www.novalures.com
  15. If he goes to the softbait gallery and does a search for "nova" he'll find them. You're right Saint. www.novalures.com
  16. Yes. What I do is pour some solid colors first to heat the molds up. I do like the turquoise highlite; it's one of my favourites. www.novalures.com
  17. I've always added mono to the end of my superline. It didn't make sense to me that the fish could see the line. I don't know about 5 to 15 yards though; I add about 10 feet. The more line you add; the more stretch you have. I still have great feeling with 10 feet, plus the lower visibility and the shock factor. www.novalures.com
  18. Try dots. That's something I've been thinking about for a while but haven't had the time to try it. Let us know how you make out. www.novalures.com
  19. They look good to me. If you've only been pouring for a couple of weeks it can only get better because I think you've got the basics down. www.novalures.com

    Happy Birthday

Happy birthday Frank(senkosam) as well to jerkbait. I see by the numbers that we're all around the same age. Us "oldtimers" got to stick together; lol. Anyway; I hope both of you have a good day. www.novalures.com
  21. Not that I'm aware of. It's best to stick with things that are made for the industry. Some of the guys have tried glitters and such from hobby store and have ruined plastic trying them out. www.novalures.com

    What if ???

That is cool. As I've said before; I like guys who think outside the box. That's how things move ahead. To me it looks like a pelican. Very nice work. www.novalures.com
  23. Thanks for the late/early Bday guys. I didn't notice that I was top poster. Guess I just have a lot of opinions; lol. www.novalures.com
  24. I don't know where this is coming from. It's not my birthday. www.novalures.com
  25. Are you dipping or are you using a mold? Also, do you want one color inside another or do you want it half and half? www.novalures.com
