  2. Yup; just put it through a grinder till it looks like flour. Please don't put real flour in the plastic;lol. For my sticks I put 1 cup plastic and 1/2 cup salt. The weight is the same if it is floured or not. www.novalures.com
  3. Possible Chris, I only have 4 Mf colors and that's not one of them. www.novalures.com

Smallie, our winters are quite mild compared to the mid-west or even MA, NH, or VT. It has to do with the gulf stream coming up the eastern seaboard and turning toward England right in front of where I live. Some winters we only get 2 or 3 snowstorms; this winter we got a little more. Thanks to everyone for the nice comments; but you've got to use the baits so I can make some more; lol. www.novalures.com

    Zoom Pumpkin

Zoom baits have some salt in them so you have to take that into account when matching. www.novalures.com
  6. Try LC oxblood with LC natural brown. I might be way of on that; the picture was hard to see clearly. Also it could be oxblood and LC pumpkinseed. www.novalures.com
  7. No problem Chad. Let us know how it turns out. www.novalures.com
  8. Like I said before; I use epoxy because it's the best I've found. I have molds that have had thousands of baits through them with no issues. www.novalures.com

    ST Mino

It's a little hard to see in the pic but there is blue highlite on the back between the two dips of the blue plastic. I think next time I will put the highlight on the second dip. www.novalures.com

    ST Mino

Made a boo boo on the red stripe. I should have smudged it before I clear coated it. This would make it look more natural. www.novalures.com
  11. Try a little brown watermelon (MF) with some oxblood(LC) and just a touch of green highlight. You will have to play around with the number of drops but to start I would use 4 brown melon with one oxblood in 4 oz of plastic. 1/32 tsp green highlight (trust me you'll like the effect). www.novalures.com

    Finess Hook

What about a hook that's designed for fly tying a foam popper. It's a straight hook with a slight left/right bend in the middle to hold the popper in place. It should do the same for a worm. I don't know what the numbers are for the hook. Sorry. www.novalures.com
  13. With the floured salt if you add it after you cook the salt will clump up ruining your batch of plastic. www.novalures.com

Have you looked at the Mustad Croaker hooks? www.novalures.com
  15. I add salt and color before I heat, glitter before you pour. I use floured salt put through a coffee grinder. I'm not saying the way I do it is the best; it just works for me. www.novalures.com
  16. Yes there is a tool for that. I've got one that I don't use anymore if you're interested. www.novalures.com
  17. Willy, you have to thin it down quite a bit. As far as loosing detail goes, it will happen to the finer details like scale patterns if you don't score them a little more with a neddle-like tool before you start to seal. If you make your mold out of resin you will get good detail recovery. The downside to resin is the cost compared to pop and if you pour a lot of baits out of it at one time the mold will heat up, and can warp a little. Also, the higher heat will cause the smell of the resin to pass to your baits. I guess everything is half a dozen of one and six of the other.lol www.novalures.com
  18. Very cool. I think those are still in the line up for LC. www.novalures.com

    ST Mino

Here's a couple of colors that will be in my line of swimtubes. Blueshad and rainbow trout. The St series will be on my site soon. The ST Mino is 4 1/2" long. You will notice that the tail is unlike the other swimtubes. www.novalures.com

  22. Depends on how many baits you want to produce at a time. Also, some molds have only 2 cavities while others have 4 to 6. If you make your own molds you can get more cavities. Most of the ones I make for myself have 10 cavities each. www.novalures.com
  23. You can mix floured salt into the plastic before you heat. It will not be white but more of a frosted look. www.novalures.com
  24. No; you want something that will take the heat and not give color transfer. www.novalures.com
  25. I use epoxy thinned with alcohol. I thin the first coat quite a bit to allow it to soak into the pop. Then the next coat is a little less thin and the third is a little thicker than the last. I cure it in the oven at about 200 for 30 minutes in between coats. When you're done you should have a glassy hard finish. I have tried Elmers glue but it didn't give me the finish I wanted. www.novalures.com
